Com was awesome if you could get to Riku mode. But Marluxia and ansem were way too easy, in my opinion. _________________

I loved that there was more plot development in this one, actually. I love cutscenes and story progression, that's why I play--to me it's like reading a book or watching a movie but ten times better because it's like, you are a bit of the character.
Combat in the first game was fairly easy too, and it's even easier in this one. But you can do it really really stylishly. I know I like to abuse my forms. I mean, they're sexy. I can definitely see what you mean by the enemies though. I mean, Sephiroth was hard but that's a hidden boss. There weren't enough challenging boss battles. There was only one that I thought was hard and the rest I cleared deathless unless I wasn't paying attention, which happened quite a bit. Twice, really. And even then I got Mickey'd. _________________

| The dialogue was the most dumbest thing ever, though. |

Not all of it. I will admit there were some totally retarded spots.
My favorite line is when Seifer says "That was undeniable proof that we totally owned you losers" or something along those lines. It was totally out of place. XP
But I think the writing was better than some of the stuff in the first game. "I can do anything with my friends!" "It's not darkness behind that door... it's light!" Or maybe I'm just too cynical to be touched by lines like that. The first one got pretty juvenile during parts of the ending sequence. KH2 was more mature. _________________

You've obviously never played Chaos Legion. That's bad dialogue. KH2s dialogue is fine; it's improved vastly since the last game. _________________

In my opinion, the hardest mandatory boss was Xaldin mainly I was 5 levels down then the balle level and I didn't bother giving anyone potions. _________________

So I just beat Xemnas on Proud mode. I was lvl 50 when I beat him. I didn't finish all of the olympus cups so I didn't see the secret ending. Looked it up on YouTube.
In proud mode, the last few bosses are tough. Xigbar was an absolute bitch. Most of the boss battles were good but he was unfair. If you slipped up ONCE during the part where everything goes black and he gets all glowly, you're pretty much dead unless you have Once More. Combine that with the fact that you pretty much had to use reaction commands which did little damage in the last part of the fight, and you had to live through that about 3 times. Luxord, Saix, and Xemnas were tough but fair. Xaldin was tough but since I had access to Mickey on him he didn't take me very long. |

Xigbar didn't take me terribly long... but I haven't played Proud Mode yet. I still don't understand how you actually fight Luxord.
I think I wound up finishing the game the first time on level 49 or something like that. Not terribly high.
But you have to get soooo much shit to get perfect for the journal... and on proud you have to do all the cups, you're right. What a bitch. _________________

It took me an hour and a half to kill Xigbar. Somewhere in the realm of about 10 attempts before I finally got him down. That last lifebar and a half or so of him (there was about 6 total) was really more like 75% of the fight. You really can't do too much damage to him because those giant bolts are flying all about and the only way to avoid him is using the reaction commands, which really didn't do too much damage to him. Then he'd do his ultimate invincible attack (let's see how you dance!) which was pretty much instant death if you ever got hit. Given how small the little platform you got was, room for error was fairly high. Then you'd have to life through that about 3 times.
Luxord was somewhat confusing for me to get it right. When you start out as a dice, you jump around and avoid getting hit while the transformation timer goes down. When you revert to human mode, start slapping him around. He'll then turn into one of his cards and start spinning around with some other cards, and you have to hit the right one (the one with his picture). If he ever does his little charge up attack, I just ran away. Doing the roulette game seemed like suicide and if you were too close he'd dish out that attack that takes out about half your life. He took me abut 5-6 tries.
On Saix, you had to time the berserks at the right time. Whenever he's go ape shit, the only way to stop was to grab a sword, speed away, then rush in and berserk. Getting into his damage range was suicide for about half the fight. I think I took about 4 tries on him. He's a great boss to use a Drive on.
On the last part of the game, the ship sequence took me a fairly long time, somewhere along the lines of 7 tries or so. On Proud, you had to pretty much absorb every shot, knock every enemy you could onto the ship, all the while shooting enemies from afar and avoiding all the annoying blue cross thingie laser beams.
Xemnas himself wasn't too much harder than the other Organization members, but he still took me a decent amount of time to figure out the tricks, took maybe 5-6 tries.
On the whole for Proud mode, it seemed like difficulty bounced from really easy to really hard. Basic heartless/nobodies were the same effortless pounding x stuff. Several of the larger heartless/nobodies (notably the cars in the old timey level, the dino things on lion king, and the purple electric things on the tron level) however could take down your entire health bar in only two or three combos while having a very large amount of health. I one-shotted most of the Disney-based bosses but the Organization bosses were much tougher. |

Phew, just finished the game. Damn that was fun.
The first/final Xemnas battles were the best. I loved the In-fight cutscenes. Never really see a game use those before, besides God of War, but they were as complecated as these. In the end, it was a really fun game, and great gameplay. Though, I think they could have left the pridelands out of it. God, I hated that world. Cutscene after cutscene. _________________

The reaction commands in Kingdom Hearts were pretty bland imo. All you had to do was mash the triangle button. In RE4 it was better because the combonation switched, so you had to be on your toes.
Personally I thought Port Royal was the worst. They seemed more interested in telling the story about the movie rather than playing the game. |

Yeah, Port Royal was probably the worst level outside of Atlantica. It had about as much level design as Wonderland from the first game. Atlantica made me sad...
