http://disney.go.com/disneyrecords/Song-Albums/devo20/

This is a cover band of the original 70s-80s new wave band. It is all created by Disney and since it is, the lyrics of many songs are rewritten and given a pleasent family friendly atmosphere. This band has also been given the go ahead by the original band. The main change is that the main lyrics are sung by a girl. Aside from these changes, this band isnt all that bad, but it has that bubble gum air to it.

What were the original Devo thinking when they gave Disney permission to do this?

You know, I never understood these Disney or Disney-esque remakes of bands and/or songs. Like, those ridiculous Kidz Bop albums, for example. Why can't kids just listen to the real artists? I seriously don't get it.

On another note, I wonder when Raven Simone's cover album of Revolver is being released...

Kids = Impressionable
Impressionable = Marketing Aimed at Kids
Marketing Aimed at Kids = Telling Them What Is Cool
Telling Them What Is Cool = Disney/ABC/etc. TV shows
Disney/ABC/etc. TV shows = Older Kids Are Cool
Older Kids Are Cool = Hillary Duff, etc.
Hillary Duff, etc. = Marketing
Marketing = Stuff Like Pop Albums
Pop Albums = $$$

So they sell shit to impressionable kids because they're evil like that.

I don't know but I definitely read something that said that they supported it... and they cast the whole band. But also something like their crazy insane philosophy will resonate with a new generation, or something like that.

If anything I want to listen to the original Devo now.

some songs are ok, but others are just terrible. On the whole, when I listen to Devo, I think of nostalgia from my teens era, when I listen to Devo2.0 I think of Disney.......somethings not right.
