About the poetry thing:

Can it be a poetic narrative?

as long as it pertains to the criteria, there shouldn't be a problem

Solitude Of A Stranded Ant

Where terrible solitude and the tears of the forgotten soldier are forged, there I take refuge,
Drying myself with words from languages never learned
From the dew of mornings never born.
Protecting myself with the vigilance of a dirty priest
From the bohemian animals which meander through the dawn,
Feeding off of cold stories, which crazy circumstance produces,
And of inopportune souls who per chance happen to lend some time to pleasure.
An abandoned nest is stumbled upon every corner,
A dripping faucet with the sound of thunder amidst the damp silence.
The migrating waves of an ocean’s name,
Socializing among themselves endlessly.
And in between such visions of a sober drunk, I fear he who has fled destruction:
His nightmares torment me in my solitude of a stranded ant,
And I cry because I do not know how to flee him who has fled,
And worse, his nightmares.

Can we reopen this? I'm feeling arty.

And, my entry:

The Burning Bees

the bees, they swarm throughout the comb
this, the place they all call home.
they all mindlessly slave away without a thought;
they're content with their robotic rhythm taut.

one bee, however, notices the trend.
he cannot continue his life around this bend.
he stops, the line continues on,
this manic conga continues for long.

he approaches a pile in the base and makes a stand,
declares his displeasure to to the other bees in the land.
the shout falls upon deaf ears,
the dance craze continues for years.

one other, while continuing his job,
turns his head and this comment he lobs:
"kid, you can't and shouldn't revolt
just keep still and all worries be naught".

the protester, enraged by such ignorance, searches for the queen,
but alas, the drum of the feet is as irresistable as its ever been.
he can't escape, and is taken in.
his life becomes but a whim.

the queen stays the course, but to the bees,
you gotta put all the trust in the lead.
the home, by fire it has now burned through,
though in the past, this the bee had knew.

Haikus!

Highway 106
Blinds me with the flashing lights
Rush hour at night

The subway scares me
The zombies standing around
People never talk

Why do people stare?
Do they sense fear in my heart?
Or is it habit?

Habit drives people
To do what the madmen do
Only without thought

Coffee house at dusk
Hushed people chant silently
Sharing busy days

Struggling to burst
Zombies calmly sip coffee
I sit down and write
