So about 11 or so PM last night at UCLA, an Iranian-American student was staying past closing hours (obviously there were others there). When asked to leave he didn't show his ID and the cops were called on him, who tasered him 5 times, even when he shouted that he had a medical condition.

"THIS IS YOUR PATRIOT ACT!"

I can't watch that. I feel queasy. I'm starting to lean towards the death penalty.

For iranians posing as amercan citizens, not the cops.

Jesus Christ, that was in UCLA. Watching that was extremely difficult. At the part where you see them on the stairs... I felt queasy, too.

Does anyone have any info on who that was? I really don't want it to be anyone I know.

My comment on the matter is the kid deserved to be tased but not 5 times. The kid REFUSED to show his ID, AND REFUSED to leave the premises. One taze is enough. I think the kid was an idiot, and probably wanting to start crap. but the cops overdid it as well. Now the kid will be the posterchild for muslim racism.

You're... awfully violent for a religious man.
I suppose that's because of your life growing up, though.

It was too excessive. It wouldve been justified if he wouldve been tazed once, but the cops did it 4 other times.

Look, when the cops ask you for ID, then you show them ID. And when you are told by the cops to leave an area, you leave an area. Dont be stupid. Especially when you are threatend with arrest and tazing. No ones going to shock my ass. This kid was an idiot for not listening to the police. BUT, the cops were stupid themselves for thinking they can over use their power. I actually hope the cops get fired.

I KNOW what its like to be tazed. It FUCKING HURTS.

The cops aren't the ones who asked for the ID and for him to leave. Doesn't sound like it anyways.

Youre probably thinking of the students asking for badge numbers and names during the incident. Before this incident happend the cops asked for the kids ID and told him to leave.

Police brutality, or justifiable homicide ..you make the call.

Jubilee Shine, Compton, CA
In August, 2003, deputies fired 81 shots at unarmed 24 year old Deandre Brunston after putting an attack K9 on him following 30 minutes of negotiation, killing him and the dog, violating all arrest procedures. (They airlifted the dog to trauma center and left Deandre to bleed until the next morning.) The order to release the K9 was given over cell phone by Lt. Patrick Maxwell from a Sunday night drinking party over the shouting protest of the K9 officer on the scene, Earnest Burwell, who Maxwell ordered away, and who then quit as deputy, agreed to testify, and is now hiding for his life from his former co-workers.
Lt. Patrick Maxwell was suspended five days in 2003 for killing a suspect who had fled into the San Gabriel River, shooting him with projectiles from land for 3 hours until he drowned.
Maxwell was the lieutenant who decided to use road flares to "burn out" an suspect who had been hiding in a house near Palmdale. The man died of gunshot wounds and burns.
In Torrance in 1990, Maxwell shot and killed an unarmed mistaken suspect who was face down on the ground.
In 1999, Maxwell was assigned as Sheriff Lee Baca's personal assistant and driver. He was then promoted to head of K9 units for the entire Los Angeles County.

WARNING: This footage shows a guy and a police dog get shot by the cops. The footage is ok, and you gont see any blood, since the quality is poor. For those who do not want to see the shooting itself, the SAFE stopping point is 19:05. The vid is 20 minutes long.

My comment: The guy was given many a chance to give himself up and to drop the weapon, and he continuously stated that he would kill the dog if they releasd him on the suspect. But it seems the cops were too trigger happy, and if some of you actually watched the vid, after he was shot, you still see him moving, and they carry the dog away, but they leave the guy to die. That is so friggin wrong. I mean 81 shots my gosh! tear gass wouldve been more effective and no one wouldve been killed.

Whoa, settle petal.

By all the accounts I've read, the guy was basically complying with the order to leave the library for failing to produce his ID. I don't understand how tasering someone gets them out of the library any faster when they're already walking out.

I think they definitely overstepped the mark with the first shock. What cop worth his badge couldn't get a college kid from point A to point B just by twisting his arm a little? What about three cops?

Oh right, cops don't have a setting that falls between "do nothing" and "excessive force". They're not some kind of super cops after all.
