Seriously, I know we're not supposed to use the word "retarded" to describe the handicapped. I think it would be nice to have a thread where we can speak frankly about our feelings toward the mentally or physically handicapped.
No offense is intended toward any mental or physical cripples on the boards, regardless of how ghastly their deformity.
Rockman got banned. But yeah. If they're retarded, they can't be offended by the word retarded unless some asshole trained them to be. Namely parents.

You and my boyfriend Josh have that in common. He has a light case of Aspurger's.
Everyone has uneasy feelings toward the handicapped. People stare, shun, tease, dislike them for who they are, "Retarded". In the early days, they were instatutionalized(sic) and deemed as derelicts, in the concentration camps in the 40's, they were killed along with the others. Today there are many who are taking their place in society, and many are becoming well known actors. There are laws protecting them as well.
I used to help with the handicapped in High school, but stupid psychologists put a stop to that, saying that it was unnormal to associate with them. That's another reason I seriously dislike those textbook quacks. I dont care if people laugh or poke fun at me for talking to them.
