Dude. Prince is better than Randy Roads. Not only can he shred, but he writes, sings, dances, produces, and is not a fugly longhair.
Randy Rhoads is a better guitarist, I guess, but a better performer? A better artist? Sorry, Dan, but it's kind of no-contest, regardless of how much I like Randy and Ozzy and heavy metal in general.
Plus, Prince is alive, so I think any future Prince Vs. Randy shredding contests will be won by Prince. |

I would come up with something witty, but I'm not going to. Other acceptable excuses would be "I don't feel like it" or "Your face."
I don't really care much about performances. That's why I don't go to many concerts, 'cause I can just listen to the music.

I've always thought Yngwie was a little boring, although he is good. Zakk is a pretty good player, but man, his tone is. . . not good. I can't understand why any metal kids would want to sound like him. As guitarists go, I'd probably take Randy first. I don't particularly idolize any of the three, though.

That's how I feel about it, too. I think he's really talented, but whatever distortion he uses just irritates me. I think my personal favorite heavy metal guitarist is probably the always imitated, never duplicated Jeff Hanneman. |
