Thanks! That picture looks amazing, what did you use to color it? Looks maybe like markers, but I can't really be sure.

Yep, the usual: markers. Just like with this one.

You seem to have a lot of negative space in your lower left corner You may want to consider putting something there to balance the picture out. Perhaps opt for a larger signature and instead of putting it in a spot that has some degree of variation with the road, put it on the bottom left corner. The leaves were a good effort, but you can tell they're just there to fill empty space; not a very efficient method.

Don't bother. He's already dead. Let us only hope pumpkin was discreet about it.

At the risk of sounding like a punk-ass bitch, on what cred are you making this critique?

I have to admit that the fence and sidewalk are a little stark; that's something I struggled with originally, trying to think of something I could add in that wouldn't draw attention away from the main subject. I actually did try to come up with something that might work better.

I considered trying to put in a fenceless neighborhood, with maybe a family in the middle of unloading some groceries from a minivan in a driveway, stopping to stare at the flaming child. I decided that it might introduce more chances to mess up the picture with that much going on, and really, whether you're familiar with Ghost Rider or not, viewers don't need hints on how to react to it. I might try working from a "picturesque neighborhood" photo or something, if I ever feel like going back to it.

The leaves aren't a composition "effort". I put them there because there is a minor Law of Movie physics that when you have a kid riding a bigwheel (or tricycle, or a bike sometimes) down a neighborhood sidewalk, unless it's the middle of winter, there will be leaves kicked up by the wind of his passing, no matter how unrealistic this may be.

I wanted to add that in, but I didn't want to confuse things by adding a "maple tree just took a dump" amount of burning leaves blowing around, so I just added a few of them. For the same reason, I didn't try to make the white slats of the fence look like they'd been blackened or set on fire and blasted into the air by his passing. I decided that this would look like it was being a little too intentional about being super-badass.

I did toss around the possibility of doing an alternate background where there's plenty going on in the background, and showing a contrast between what's in front of him (a sleepy neighborhood in autumn) and what's behind (a spreading cone of firey destruction).

. . . Hmmm. . . I might actually do that.

well I think it's perfect the way it is... sorta in a Back to the Future way. The car leaves a flame trail, but Doc's able to run through it without catching fire. The flames aren't destructive, just really cool.

Still, I'm not the world-reknowned art critic and 50-year veteran art museum curator Tacofiend is. Wink

I didn't mean for any of that criticism to be taken seriously. I was just curious what your reaction would be towards it. I've heard that you you can take it pretty hard sometimes and the critique was just an experiment. Pay no further attention to it.

If I were to give my honest opinion, it's great how it is. I wouldn't change a thing.
