I've never read any of his books, but Stephen King might deserve a spot on the list.

consider yourself disputed.
I can't give reasons, but I just know I disagree with that list.

I disagree with a great deal of it (just starting out with Hemingway and Steinbeck, both hacks, is pretty stupid), and fuck you, Salinger's awesome. I'm sick of people hating on Catcher in the Rye.

I do not like Steinbeck. Maybe if I read more than just The Pearl, but seriously, The Pearl was bad.

but yeah, start with of mice and men and move onto grapes of wrath. both great books.

God, Of Mice and Men is dreck. Woefully obvious, predictable, and furthermore maudlin.

And don't get me started on Hemingway.

This list is missing Don DeLilo, Vladimir Nabokov (hey, if you're counting Bukowski), Aldous Huxley, Isaac Asimov, and you know what I don't like Faulkner either.

Isaac Asimov yes.

Aldous Huxley, no.

Brave New World sucked.

Meh, maybe I just disagree with its message. In my book, Asimov has a much better and probably far more accurate view of the future.

Woah! I just noticed! It's century.

I am ashamed of myself as a grammar/spelling nazi for not catching onto this sooner...
