Yeah, the title is descriptive. I got to be quick about this. Basicly, there's a hacker threating a few of the board that I currently host, and my domain's safety in general. They all ready hacked into a friends phpbb forum, and are effing it up as we speak. I can't IP ban them, they constantly use proxies. I really need help with dealing with this threat. Any help would be welcomed.
They've all ready been messing with my board, I'm just on enough to quickly ban proxies and put the settings back...
Yes, they hijacked an admin account on another board.

That was you? I'm sorry, I'm paranoyed about this hacker. When I saw "adelphia.net", it looked a lot like one of the hackers proxies, and I was sort of busy so I just went and bant it...I'll go fix it, sorry.
ITS, I don't think I did anything, I just noticed the threatening messages, and then saw them trashing my friends site. I've talked to my friend about it, he has no clue either.
They really bleeped up virinfluence.net, it was relatively new and under devolopment, though. They totally raped the boards. Twice.

Yeah, taunting hacker may be tempting, but never a good idea :/

I didn't make virinflunce, that's my friend's page.
Still, what can be done to catch the hacker? Or at least prevent it...

And in my case it was either that or give into their demmands:
Ftp access and an admin account
Yeah right.
My friend definetly didn't give away his passwords, because he had been changing them back and forth, and they were useless crap.

Change admin passes and don't use them elsewhere? Catching a hacker isn't very plausible, unless they leave a callingcard, which usually, a hacker isn't stupid enough to do.
Btw, "it was either that or giving in" - no. Taunting is never an "only choice". And how can they -demand- anything out of you? They are online, probably a million miles away..

Proxies are easy to get ahold of, so that's... not surprising.. Just don't worry bout it. Can you like.. quote the "threats" ?

I was kind of thinking of that, just like someone who's annoying you: just ignore them and then they won't get the satisfaction of bothering you anymore. I think I hiatus might fix it.
