I've known about this game for a few months, and the E3 video just made me so much more excited. It's so much improved over the... ... last video.

Which makes me excited. I play Sims 2, Sim City 4, and Black and White 2 right now. And I love them all. Smile

it starts out as a third-person eater that evolves from 2D to 3D, then into a tribal RTS, then into SimCity, then into Civilization, then into a space game.

In the space game, you colonize, explore, meet, ally, and wage war. The game's not over 'till you've conquered the universe...
and it begins when you're a single cell.

And you thought Katamari Damacy had a dizzying sense of scale.

Still awesome. Anyway, I've been looking at stuff online, and it seems each phase can be compared to another game, though the big draw is the editors. Clothes, plants, creatures, buildings...

Right, Anyway...

1. Tide pool phase, similar to Pac-Man
2. Creature phase, Diablo
3. Tribal phase, Populous
4. City phase, SimCity
5. Civilization phase, Risk and Civilization
6. Space phase (a.k.a. UFO stage or Invasion), with some elements reminiscent of Destroy All Humans!, and later sandbox gameplay.

All of these are still unique in their respective ways, especially #1, which isn't that much like pac-man.

So no, this isn't one game ripping off a whole bunch of other games.
