formeragentbauer: paul was hte weakest link of the band
formeragentbauer: he was like the ringo of the beatles
flyingcowchicken: in what band?
formeragentbauer: the beatles
flyingcowchicken: paul was the weakest link?!
formeragentbauer: yep
flyingcowchicken: that makes no sense
flyingcowchicken: you just said he was like ringo
formeragentbauer: that was hte joke
flyingcowchicken: so they're both the weakest link?
flyingcowchicken: oihjasduhgdfsdsahf
formeragentbauer: ITS A JOKE YOU HACK
flyingcowchicken: I like paul more than lennon
formeragentbauer: you suck hten
flyingcowchicken: i mean
formeragentbauer: i mean, really
formeragentbauer: only idiots like paul better than lennon
flyingcowchicken: paul could play piano, guitar, bass, and bass
flyingcowchicken: and more
flyingcowchicken: lennon never played bass
formeragentbauer: who cares?
formeragentbauer: paul was a better musician, yes
formeragentbauer: but lennon was much mor einspired
formeragentbauer: and was a visionary
formeragentbauer: paul wrote songs about how much he loved the girl of the week
flyingcowchicken: and theyre great
flyingcowchicken: lennon just wrote about acid trips and shit\
flyingcowchicken: the only real meaningful soing he wrote
formeragentbauer: exactly
flyingcowchicken: was julia
formeragentbauer: Neutral
flyingcowchicken: and others
flyingcowchicken: lol
formeragentbauer: paul was so boring
formeragentbauer: from help to present
flyingcowchicken: think about this
formeragentbauer: his songs never changed
flyingcowchicken: the b side of abbey road was to please paul
flyingcowchicken: while the a side was lennons
formeragentbauer: the best parts of hte medly
formeragentbauer: are "mean mr. mustard"
formeragentbauer: and "polythene pam"
formeragentbauer: both lennon
flyingcowchicken: the whole medley is great
formeragentbauer: yes
formeragentbauer: but
formeragentbauer: paul's songs never changed
formeragentbauer: he never had any growth
flyingcowchicken: polythene pam and mean mr mustard is basically one fucking song!
formeragentbauer: exactly
formeragentbauer: one great song
flyingcowchicken: and she came in threough the bathroom window is even better i think
flyingcowchicken: more puhzass
formeragentbauer: nothing paul wrote was very creative
formeragentbauer: lyric wise
formeragentbauer: it was basically recounting stuff htat happened to him
formeragentbauer: at one point or another
flyingcowchicken: maxwells silver hammer
formeragentbauer: true
formeragentbauer: but can you name another/
flyingcowchicken: eleanor rigbey
formeragentbauer: lennon was hte abstract artist
formeragentbauer: paul was the guy who painted the ocean
formeragentbauer: good paintings, yes,
formeragentbauer: but not very interesting
formeragentbauer: well detailed
formeragentbauer: with the occasional surprise
formeragentbauer: lennon's were much cooler
flyingcowchicken: McCartney devised many of The Beatles' late 1960s projects including the concept for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the film and record of Magical Mystery Tour, and the suite of songs that closes the album Abbey Road.
formeragentbauer: simple in places where they must be simple, and wild/in your face when you wnated them to be
formeragentbauer: magical mystery tour movie sucked
formeragentbauer: the album was nothing but a bunch of random singles they just through together
formeragentbauer: threw
formeragentbauer: because they didnt know here else to put htem
formeragentbauer: and wha tdoes it mean by "concept"?
formeragentbauer: the best songs on sgt. peppers wre lennon's
formeragentbauer: for the benfit of mr. kite
formeragentbauer: a day in the life
formeragentbauer: etc
flyingcowchicken: but the cover design
flyingcowchicken: one of the most imitated
flyingcowchicken: was his idea
formeragentbauer: once again
formeragentbauer: surprising
formeragentbauer: detailed
formeragentbauer: but nothing too awesome or abstract
formeragentbauer: plus
formeragentbauer: it's just a cover
formeragentbauer: i thought we were debating music
flyingcowchicken: he wrote let it be and hey jude
formeragentbauer: theyre both like the same song
formeragentbauer: and half of hey jude is just "NANANANANANANAN"
formeragentbauer: seriously, for every ogod paul song you throw at me
formeragentbauer: i can name three good lennon songs
flyingcowchicken: yesterday
formeragentbauer: lucy in the sky
formeragentbauer: being for the benfit of mr. kite
formeragentbauer: a day in the life
flyingcowchicken: those ARE great
flyingcowchicken: now how many of those are about drugs?
flyingcowchicken: hmm...
flyingcowchicken: 3?
formeragentbauer: oh come on
formeragentbauer: how many mccartney songs were about anything but love
flyingcowchicken: many
flyingcowchicken: ok
flyingcowchicken: let the forum decide
formeragentbauer: yes, let's
formeragentbauer: do you want to make hte thread, or shall I/
flyingcowchicken: i have
formeragentbauer: poll?

REASONS TO VOTE FOR PAUL:

Harrison was a fluent, inventive and highly accomplished lead and rhythm guitarist, whose influences included Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins and Chet Atkins. Although he was a creative soloist, several of his famous Beatles guitar solos were recorded under specific directions from Paul McCartney, who on occasion demanded that Harrison play what he envisioned virtually note-for-note. Other Harrison solos were directed or modified by producer George Martin, who also vetoed several of Harrison's song and instrument offerings; Martin admitted years later, "I was always rather beastly to George."

He wanted to keep the Beatles together.

He is a musical genius.

He has great songs.

Did I mention that he's a musical genius?

reasons to vote for lennon

he kicked paul mccartney's ass.

also, for every good paul song there were at least three good lennon songs.

also, paul mccartney contributed to some of the worst songs in beatles history (wild honey pie, ob-la-di, birthday, etc.)

he also rarely wrote a song about anything but loving the girl of the week. as i said in my lengthy conversation i posted, mccartney was hte landscape artist; detailed and satisfying, but not wholly interesting. lennon was the abstract artist; awesome, creative work that you could analyze for hours and not grow bored. (lennon's songs were much more filling, too and he proved himself to be the better solo artist after the split)

Goddamn. Lennon has the assassinated factor on his side, which makes 10x more overrated.

No way. Paul had the opportunity to garner a huge fanbase with the 30 plus years he had with this life, but he only put on overpriced concerts and really mediocre albums.

Lennon did "Imagine".

McCartney refused to sign a prenup when his wife offered to.

I think Lennon is the clear winner here.

McCartney was in Wings.

That's a loss right there and you know it.

imagine the possibilities available if we could bring them together on socks to share their views on which one is better.
the posts would never cease
