Yeah, a top five would be much more convenient... top three is too hard. Not enough variety and ways for the albums to compliment each other.

But anyway...

the clash - london calling
of montreal - satanic panic in the attic
the dismemberment plan - change

the other two spots would belong to:
VCR - power destiny and
the jazz june - the medicine

with honorable mentions to:
the russian futurists - let's get ready to crumble,
thunderbirds are now! - justamustache,
osker - idle will kill, and
the strokes - is this it

So, okay - this is my "real" list:

Husker Du - Flip Your Wig (ok, this was really hard, because they're ALL good... even candy apple grey is better than most shit)
Gene Krupa - Drum Crazy (this may just be a cheap compilation, but it has about 90% of his best stuff)
Slowdive - Souvlaki/Pixies - Bossanova (I haven't listened to the pissies in yonks, but damn, bossy is a fine example of the later pixies being a trillion times better than their earlier years... and souvlaki is hella sweet)

1. Ivy - Apartment Life
2. Ivy - Long Distance
3. No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom

The Zombies - Odessey & Oracle

The Polyphonic Spree - Together We're heavy

Pavement - Wowee Zowee

I was tempted to say the Strokes too, as I just re-listened too This Is It and remembered how really fucking good that album is.

You can remember, because it should be a question, only they don't add the "?".
