There are lots of other bands that I love, but very few hard rock bands write good enough songs to have mass appeal. As far as hard rock goes, AC/DC is the undisputed champ, but Van Halen is right up there.
Plus, Women And Children First is amazing. If you ever need a record to put on at a party, any of five true Van Halen albums are hard to beat. Sammy Hagar has had his moments, but his pre-Van Halen years are definitely his best ("Heavy Metal" is a great tune). |
