I hold off my Wii decision until I try out a kiosk.
But I just don't have enough money to get all these new games all at once.

Opinion: Fucking gay.

Well the idea was to create a grey goo machine in the form of a game.
The problem is that it went too well, everyone liked the games and now we must live with this self-replicating creature.

Ever since Square and Enix combined it's been nothing but shitty games.

The only especially shitty games to come from recentness are the kingdom hearts trio of sodomy. FF12 is a welcomed change to awesome.

Kingdom Hearts is fun to play, though. The first one had a plot which was weak in spots, just before the grand finale, with the whole "LIGHT CONQUERS DARKNESS" cliche, but the second one was interesting, and while the new gameplay mechanics were cool and all, it was just so... easy.

From what I've heard of the plot of this Final Fantasy is that it is more political in nature, with empires and shit, and I really want to see how that turns out. I'm a little concerned about the gambit system, though--at least I'll be able to plan out elaborate strategies and actually have them happen, but I hope that it doesn't completely play itself.

Dragon Quest VIII is pretty damn good, and that's a SquareEnix. Just doesn't get quite the coverage because the series isn't as big here as it is in Japan. Heck, that's the only one I've ever played. But it's hella good, trust me. It looks like it would be easy, but it's actually pretty tough, though I wish leveling wasn't quite such a pain in the ass.

I didn't have any fun with it. One button combat with a jump button and some mostly useless magic thrown in.

Yeah, But I don't like Dragon Ball Z.

It's not about dragon ball z, it's just akira toriyama did the character designs for the game.

it's totally not dbz.

it's actually a very traditional kind of fantasy, though i'm only halfway through the game. okami takes priority.

That's good. But we're talking about Dragon Quest. The art style is the same because it's done by the creator of DBZ, Akira Toriyama. That's about it. I've actually been looking into getting Dragon Quest. It's absolutely huge in Japan and it's an actual law that a Dragon Quest game cannot be released on a school day there because too many kids will skip, buy the game, and play it that day.

Art style is the same? The characters are damn near identical.

.... That's what I said.... Wait, do you mean exactly? There are no crazed, muscle-bound blonde men flying around from what I've seen of the game. I actually thought that the characters models were pretty ingenius. That squatty little guy with the bit of stubble looks cool and the main character looks kind of like a pirate.

They all look like they jumped out of Dragon Ball Z.

If I still remembered, I could actually say which characters they were.

Welcome to every RPG ever. Wink

Also, I heard this doesn't use a turn-based battle system. Sad

Edit: The description of it sounds almost exactly like the one used in the .hack games. Which sucked, gameplay-wise.
