I love ultimate frisbee. The two things I always have in my car are my guitar and my frisbee (and my CDs).

So that's more than three things.

Don't mess with my genders! I wrote down himself, but I didn't read who it was, so I felt like changing it to her.

Right.

I'm terrible at Ultimate, but the Ultimate team here is probably the only real sports team we have. And apparently they're hella good.

Anyone who thinks ultimate isn't a sport, has never watched it or played it.

And yes, there is the same amount of skill involved as basketball. If not, more. Stepping to the right, practically doing a split and throwing the disc under someone's hand about 1 foot off the ground, having the disc curve slightly right to left around defenders 50 yards down the field and ending up in your team mate's hands takes more skill than dribbling around a couple guys and slam dunking.

I read up on it. Looks like non-contact football, with a frisbee. Could've been an extremely popular sport if the frisbee was made for it.

Not true. I've done both, and still don't think it's a sport. It's cool, but not a sport.

Because there is no MLF: Major League Frisbee. That, and it's really hard to regulate throws and such, and from what I understand most of the rules of Ultimate Frisbee are just a direct rip off of football rules. It's not that it isn't a sport, it's that it's unoriginal, hard to regulate, and not recognized officially. It's loads of fun, but I honestly wouldn't expect to see an Ultimate Frisbee League in the town sports complex...

It's not that major of a rip from football. Yeah, it does have some similarities but they way the game itself is played is most definitely different.

As for the no Major League thing, it's still a very young sport! As far as I know there have been efforts to organize college leagues across the country and there are a bunch of major tournaments around. Just because it's not officially recognized doesn't make it a good game.

And seriously, why the fuck do people watch baseball? if you think ultimate is boring to watch, why is baseball so much more exciting? I'd rather watch Ultimate, personally.

I'd rather watch curling than baseball.
