That's a pretty hard dis. |
yeah, seriously, have you listened to living field?
i haven't listened to much pillows lately, but i'd rather stock up on their early stuff than their recent creations... still don't have little busters, would like to have kool spice & a hq mr. lostman, etc etc though i'll admit i love smile, that was their first post-flcl album i believe? i need someone to hook me up, god knows i can't afford imports.
i just got a batch of five cds a couple of weeks ago: two by the coral, ted leo's hearts of oak, ween's chocolate and cheese, boom bip's blue eyed in the red room. still need to give a good listen to ted & ween, but boom bip is pretty cool. :3 and i want some portugal. the man, i liked the stuff they had on their myspace. _________________

Living Field is alright. I mean, I like Angel Fish and Sunday and a few others, but it's not, you know, my favorite album ever by a

Yeah fru you know I have their discography. Just say the word.
Mark: HAHAHA LONGSHOT. Living Field is probably my favorite of the pre-Lostman albums, next being White Incarnation and then Kool Spice I suppose. The FLCL stuff is just shorter versions of some of their best songs... or some of their most mediocre. Kind of a grab bag. PML and Little Busters have the same kind of stuff, in full, with awesome b-sides accompanying them.
The pillows also have the best b-sides in the universe. Another Morning, Another pillows is a great compilation.
I just saw Portgual. The Man today and they had to stop halfway through because their bassist's bass died. It pissed me off, so I'll go see them next month in Seattle, and then their promised "extended set" for when they come back to Portland. They were still good, but shit. _________________

That's what I was about to say. I've been to a couple shows where instruments were lent from band to another. _________________ here comes the big ideas again, just like they did before and then,

At first I thought I read it as 'the bassist died' and I didn't really think much of it because I don't really give a shit about any of the bands in this thread still. _________________

I'm going with Africa and am also guessing that part of the profits will be donated to AIDS research and/or Darfur relief. _________________
