This movie is basically all-around badassssss. It's a bold statement, but I think this might be the best Batman movie now... maybe it's too soon for me to make a judgement.

Also, those of you saying there were plot holes... care to elaborate? I didn't notice any. Either I wasn't paying enough attention, or you weren't paying attention, or you just heard there were plot holes.

Anybody else think that Ledger's Joker performance bordered on "Richard Nixon impression" at times?

P.S. Watchmen trailer is online. It looks as if they're adapting the main plotline, without all the flashback / pirate story subtext. Granted, this is the stuff that really makes Watchmen. But the basic storyline of the book is just a superhero whodunnit with a crazy ending, very much in keeping with mainstream comics.

Plus, it'll make a ton more people read the book, which is always good.

I mostly have a problem with the school bus in the beginning pulling out of the bank and merging onto a crowded road with dust flying off of it and no one reports the bus, or seems to care. And while it isn't a plothole, the transition from Joker sitting in the interrogation room with a guy about to beat his ass to moving into the middle of the station with a knife to the guy's neck was a little sudden to me. Shouldn't they have sent a guy who commonly uses knives to hold people up through a metal detector or some shit?

That's not to say it made the movie endearing, I thoroughly loved it. It's just a few things that keep it from being the greatest movie in existence, if you will.

I understand your point, and these are legitimate "hey, wait" moments. BUT a hole in a movie's plot is always a serious flaw, and saying a movie has them is a pretty serious charge against it. Neither of the things you mention fit the bill, so let's try to keep the fighting words down in the future.

It's like saying "I fucking hate that restaurant where you cook." when you mean "I had a BLT at that place once and it wasn't very good."

I actually thought the Joker was going to have a big ol' shard of mirror glass at the guy's throat.

I mean, Batman smashed his head into it.

Wait, didn't he? Did he actually use a knife?

...I'm sorry, that's fucking retarded. They would've confiscated it for sure.

Well I'm not too sure, it could have gone either way.

I will probably see the film again this week so I will keep a closer eye out.

I thought it was a knife, and that, once again, the Joker had been just a little too clever for the police.

Could be a small scene was cut for time there. It is a pretty long movie.

Question my friend and I were discussing:

SPOILER ALERT

Who did Batman want to save. Did he want to save Rachel and the Joker switched the addresses he gave to him? Or did he choose to save Dent?

I think he chose to save Dent, he knew he was doing a pretty good job at cleaning up Gotham and put the needs of the city above his own desires.

Which is pretty much what Batman does I guess.

No. Joker definitely switched the addresses. If you couldn't tell by the look of shock on both his and Gordon's faces you weren't paying attention. Not to mention that when Gordon asks Bruce which one he's going to save he barks "RACHEL."

Bruce admires Dent and everything, but Rachel was the love of his life and all that.

Hmm, upon reflection I think you're right, it's like the Joker himself made the right choice on Batman's behalf.

i rewatched it already. i think the joker was using a shard of glass to hold up the guy in the interrogation room, there was a pretty obvious piece over his shoulder on a ledge while he was sitting, and it looked to fit the shape of the one he used.

See, I didn't catch that at all, and I didn't catch that particular piece of dialogue, and I'm pretty sure I was paying rapt attention. Maybe if I see it again I'll see things differently, but I'm inclined to agree with Jordan's initial interpretation.

Don't take anything I say about the movie as being even remotely true because I swear I saw Cillian Murphy like 4 times.
