I doubt you really know what being a humanitarian means then. You'd rather someone rot in a cell then die? Nice. I like to bullshit sometimes too.

Two things:
1. Prisons are not safe or healthy environments. They lose a lot more than ten years of their life. They may also use their ability to operate in normal society. Heck, with prison violence, they may even lose their life...
So you're not really preventing anything or saving anyone.
2. Since the death penalty was re-legalized in the late 70's, there has been no evidence that anyone we've executed was innocent.
and forensics is only getting better.

He just tossed it in so eventually when things get off topic, he can lock it and act like he won. It's loosely related but honestly there was no reason to mention it.
ANYWAY, of the death penalty, I think the answer is simple. In an ideal world, innocent people don't get convicted, but since they do, and this isn't an ideal world, they aren't executed immediately. They sit on death row for a long time. If you don't want to be executed, don't KILL PEOPLE.
