| This is the best Final Fantasy ever. The battle system is a lot more interactive, which I love about this game. The new system of gaining skills isn't too bad, either. |

if he has HDLoader, a swap disc, or a modded PS2, he can play burned discs.

Well, in dragon quest specifically, it takes FOREVER TO LEVEL UP. Like, a really long time. Seriously long. I usually don't mind running around and killing monsters to get levels, but I'm about four levels underleveled and I just got to Plot Changing Ultra Bad Guy that I can't beat because only one of my characters can revive people and he keeps on dying.

Symphonia was awesomer . I obsessed over levels and played the game for 95HOURS! and still didn't make it to the second disc because the ice cave in my game wasn't made right T_T I couldn't get through it and then bought a guide only to find out my game's cave was set up COMLETELY WRONG!
Leveling up will always be time consuming but alas that's part of the game.IT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE EASY
And to be stuck on the intro suck's . My friend Josh couldn't kill a freekin rabit if he tried in My game

Symphonia made it so every battle would allow You as a person would gain skill and technique along with your character. But they could always.. you know... MAKE IT INTERESTING AND NOT SO *bleep*ing TEDIOUSE

I was watching the intro video, that's what I was referring to. :/ I still haven't bought the game, but if I don't wind up camping for a Wii, I'll probably get this instead.
What bothers me about leveling is that I usually have a couple of strategies in my head when I'm going into a fight and they usually work out to my advantage, and I defeat the enemies or whatever. I skip over a lot of fights because they're boring, but I'm still okay with bosses. In most/all RPGs I play, I'm serially 4 levels underleveled. I don't obssess over levels. The only time I was leveling up on purpose was in Kingdom Hearts 2 and that was to get better forms so I could go for 100%.

It's not so much about leveling as it is about license points. Licenses are basically what you use to wield weapons and to learn spells, as well as increase damage, mp, hp, defense, evasion with shield, etc. The reasons why leveling isn't as annoying as before is, basically:
1. Gambits (commands on your teammates to do certain things at certain times, reminds me of coding)
2. Mobility in battle (it's fun to run away from the enemy targeting your character while your teammates beat them to death)
3. Mist (summoning monsters, super attacks)
4. Easy to obtain licenses (in turn, easier to get the skills that you need)
5. Marks (special monsters you can hunt for loot and money, good for when you need gil for buying shit)
And if you think I'm biased, the only FF I could stand to play through was FF6. Never beat FF7-FF10. they're SHIT compared to this one. |
