I'm assuming you mean me, and sorry about the post. I was in a
What I like about the old games is the high replay value and the awesome gameplay. In my opinion, they are some of the best games ever.

The new games didn't meet the standards that the old one's set up. THe only ones that I liked were Advance 1 and Adventure 1. The rest from Adventure2 till Shadow the Hedgehog was the decline. Adventure 2 was decent, Heroes was boring and Shadow the Hedgehog was on par with my foot. I mean, why the hell do you givea hedgehog a gun? It doesn't make sense. As you said earlier:

It's messed up. Looking at the new one for Next-Gen, I have to say the graphics make it look amazing. But I can't say that I have high hopes for it.

sure is fun to play 2/3 of your playing time in a clunky robot or searching for COLLECTABLE EMERALD SHARDS by flying around aimlessly in a game with some bad level design and shit camera, all in the midst of one of the cheesiest, faux-intricate storylines ever concieved.

oh wait i forgot you can PLAY AS THE BAD GUY.

Not to mention the most fun levels consisted of holding up on the controll stick half the time and pressing A twice to use an move and automatically attacks an enemy for you.

I miss my Game Gear. :(

sorry Ethan, but the earlier Sonic games are absolutely brilliant, and work incredibly well for having like two different moves.

and I finished Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 during the weekend on one of my megadrives.

also new Sonic is absolute tosh.

I never said they were bad, I just said they're not that amazing.

Fucking brilliant tunes, though.

I grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog. It was great. I enjoyed Sonic Adventure but all the other newer sonic games sucked. Pre-Sonic is definitely way better. Who here gathered all the emeralds in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 without cheating? That took forever for me and my friend to do.

I love Sonic Adventure 2. I'm not gonna lie. Sonic Adventure was good, but not as, Heroes was pretty decent, I guess. Shadow was interesting for about 30 minutes.

Classic Sonic? You seriously gotta be ready to put in hours at a time. But overall... I like classic Sonic on the whole.

Genesis- If we're willing to forgive the "Blast Processor" thing, I'd have to say that this is a fun way to kill time. After a few levels, you'll probably get bored, but it's overall a nice little distraction.

Game Gear- Basically the same as the genesis version, but with levels of infuriating ramped up to 11. You will probably weep and curse the day you bought this back-lit battery eater. At least it'll give you something to do during those long car trips. Portability, yeah!

Dreamcast- I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is, you get to play as Knuckles. The bad news? You have to wander around the city for hours on end digging up green rocks for some kind of search quest. Another thing, what is the big deal if Sonic gets to the emerald first? I mean, why even have Tails' storyline in the first place? It's like a 2 player mode only not fun. Sonic Adventure 2 had a good story albeit falling in love with itself a little too much at times. Overall, the music was good and I liked the character redesigns.

Game Boy Advance- Genesis style gameplay, more portable than the Game Gear, and the 90's character redesigns. GBA Sonic is perfect for the dentist's office, work, or bus rides.

Ps2, Xbox, Gamecube- Sonic heroes was going in the right direction but didn't quite pull it off. Ah, but here's where things go downhill. Joining Spawn, Venom, and pretty much anything drawn by Liefeld, here comes the totally maxed-out-tortured-past-badass. With a gun. And swearing. Edgy, extreme, and pretty much a total flop. Ah, Shadow the Hedgehog, many of us would appreciate it if you would curl up and die in the landfill where 5 million ET the Extraterrestrial cartridges are buried. Thank you.
