I believe that violence is never justified, even in self-defense. Good nature or not. Violence happens. It's natural. It's often necessary. And it frequently is deserved.

Anyhow, I think violence on whatever scale should be avoided as much as possible, but there comes a point at times when it's absolutely necessary, and in those cases it's justified.

Anyway, I agree with ITS that violence is sometimes necessary in self-defense. However, the exact point is subjective. For you it's no where. For me, it's in defense of my life or the life (lives) of (an)other(s).
