you know they have dualshock right
Yeah, but the 360 controller's still got it beat though, 'cause not only does it feel nice and solid and pretty much the exact weight you'd want a controller to be, but it also doesn't have any motion sensing.
And Microsoft doesn't plan to add any.
It's like Microsoft's saying, "If we want people to produce utter garbage for our system, we'll do it ourselves with dashboard updates."
It's all Dualshock 3 now, and I personally love the Playstation controllers. I never found the xbox controllers comfortable. I also never cared about backwards compatibility. We have 2 PS2s and an Xbox in our apartment, so I only really wanted the PS1 backwards compatibility anyway.
What's with all the PS3 hate? Did a Playstation touch you inappropriately when you were young? _________________
I like the Playstation controllers too. But I agree with ITS that the 360 controller feels the best. It's definitely more ergonomic that the Dualshock. The Sixaxis was way too light though, it felt weird.
I still want a silver or white PS2 before they stop manufacturing them.

I'm just countering the Xbox hate.
And living up to my avatar.
Look, if the PS3 had anything to offer me over the Xbox 360 I already have, I'd buy it, but besides one game, it's got nothin'.
And the Xbox trumps it in the controller department.
And while PS3 graphics tend to look slightly better, it's a trade off for the load times, and the controller issue just drives me away more. I admit I haven't gotten to try the dualshock 3, but when I tried out the sixaxis, I really didn't like it. The games also failed to impress. Which ones did I try... Lair and Folklore. Lair was just annoying. Folklore was okay, but I couldn't get into it. I also hated how you have to yank the controller up to draw in folks or whatever they are. And how you have to wait 10 minutes every time you walk to a different area.
Maybe it's just 'cause I really don't like motion controls in a game. I mean, with the Wii, it's a necessary evil, since the controller was designed to primarily be a waggling stick, although Wii games usually end up ticking me off too. But the PS3, c'mon man. I'm holding a controller with over 10 buttons and two joysticks on it, but you expect me to move it around to control the game?
So I guess you could say a PS3 rubbed me the wrong way about three months ago. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

Just so you know, the motion sensor is usually a option you can turn on or off on most games. With an exception to Bowling (which is awesome) and a couple brief moments in games like Uncharted, it's never needed or even defaulted. Although I do use it to reload my gun in GTA4 by flicking my controller. See, it's usually just used to reduce the need for all those buttons in tight/intense situations.
Also- Folklore and Lair?! Those are very poor examples of PS3 games. Try Uncharted, MLB:The Show, Metal Gear Solid 4, or Warhawk. _________________

Folklore's all buttons 'cept for that one "reel in" motion, and I still resented it. Maybe you enjoy flicking the controller around for certain things, but I'd rather just hit a button. That way I get to keep both hands on the controller, and if I shift positions during a firefight, there's no chance that Niko will suddenly start to reload while a cop empties a shotgun into him.

The only game in that list I'm even remotely interested in is Warhawk, but I couldn't play it when I tried out that PS3 'cause the guy's internet connection was down. He's rooming with me this year, so I'm sure I'll get to try it. Although he warned me there's some game-unbalancing glitches in it (invisible, virtually invincible tanks!) that weren't patched a few months ago. I don't know if they've been patched yet. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck
