Pink Floyd is at #80. That's bullshit! I would have them atleast top 15.

They're definitely overrated. They belong in at least spot 24.

Also, Bob Dylan definitely deserves his place. McCartney should be higher. Michael Jackson should be higher. Conor O'Berst can suck it.

Prince is definitely not better than most of the people above him.

Where is Les Claypool?

since people wouldnt recognize him, he wasnt on the list.

another thing, most of these lists are just pandering the people who would care enough to complain to hte magazine.

http://pastemagazine.com/

Paste Magazine is one of the fastest growing independently published entertainment magazines in the country, recently named "Magazine of the Year" at the 2006 PLUG Independent Music Awards. We pride ourselves in being the premier magazine for people who still enjoy discovering new music, prize substance and songcraft over fads and manufactured attitude, and appreciate quality music in whatever genre it might inhabit--indie rock, Triple-A, Americana, folk, blues, jazz, etc. What other magazine would dare run features on singer/songwriter Patty Griffin and rapper Gift of Gab (from Blackalicious) in the same issue?

We're happy to bring you thoughtful analysis on the best in film, books and other aspects of popular (and alternative) culture. PLUS, every issue of Paste gets you a FREE sampler CD (packed with 21+ songs), and sometimes a FREE "Signs of Life" DVD Sampler (with music videos, short films, and trailers)! The Paste Sampler CD is an invitation-only CD we treat as a glorified office mix-tape, not something to listen to once and rip the two or three good songs. What more could you want? (OK, maybe a free subscription. We'll try to get it bundled in with national health care, how's that?)

Now in our fifth year, we've grown quickly with international distribution in over 12 countries. Paste is available on newsstands all over the U.S. and Canada - including:
Borders
Barnes & Noble
Books-a-Million
Tower
Hastings
Joe Muggs
B. Dalton
Albertsons
and independent newsstands and music stores everywhere with more being added all the time. If you don't find us at your favorite store, ask. They are probably sold-out. You can always order from our online store.

We're also available in select stores in Europe including the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, France, Poland and more.

How about third source information? Obviously the magazine is going to talk good about itself.

Prince is excellent. Have you ever actually listened to him? He's way more creative than any shitty Bob Dylan or Roger Waters.

I beg to differ. Prince is a greasy condom filled with evil pus.

Same with Dylan and Waters, but Prince is bigger.

I hate it when things call themselves "indie". It makes me full of anger.

Dylan is a good songwriter, but his singing is... awful, really.
Waters is good, but I personally like Pink Floyd for the instrumental parts.
Prince? More like PRINCESS! lol! XD!

All you Prince haters have no idea what you're talking about. He's a fucking SAINT up here. More than Bob Dylan, Husker Du, even (slightly) above The Replacements. When you fucking re-define an entire genre of music you better damn well be on the list.

also, it's Alex Chilton and he should be higher on the list.

also, also, RANDY NEWMAN?!? WHAT THE FUCK!?
