| I don't get the huge hype around Halo. I mean, it's good, but I don't think it's as good as Unreal Tournament, or even UT2K4. |

| It's just a different taste. UT and Halo have a bit of different mechanics and speed to their matches. I.e. UT is literally on speed. |

That's what I think whenever I get the speed powerup.
SPEED!
Aw yeah, man. Here it comes. |

Halo got pretty lucky with it's popularity.
Because the cool kids like it, the 12 year old boys who could shatter eardrums with their voices like it.
My only experience of playing Halo 2 on live was a bunch of kids forgetting their microphones were still on, and started:
a) Singing
b) Yelling at their friends
c) Eating very loudly.
But I still enjoyed it. |

he's probably behind a firewall that won't let him, so he'd have to learn to port forward too.
that'd be too advanced for him. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

Haha, crap. I was looking at stuff about dedicated servers.
I'm free pretty much all of tomorrow, if anyone wants to play. Or right now. :\ |

I used to play Halo 2 all the time. I don't play it as much anymore but I occasionally get on it. I played the Halo 3 beta, it was good but I didn't really play it that much. Only like 4 times mostly because I just didn't feel like it. I'll definitely play it more often when it is actually out. I'm looking forward to the campaign, that looks good. I still do get on Halo 2 but thats the only game I play online.

Pfft. I don't see why somebody would want the intensity turned down in an FPS game. The only FPS game that really works at a slow, methodical pace imo is Metroid Prime and that game is really in a league of its own.
That's just me though. I'm sort of an adrenaline junkie. |

speed isn't the only way an FPS can be intense. A bunch of people in an enclosed space is intense no matter what the speed. Halo has a bunch of tiny maps, and on the bigger ones, there's vehicles.
Battlefield 1942 is slow as heck and there's plenty of intensity. How you gonna dodge a plane on foot? Can you shoot down that bomber before it bombs your tank? How are you going to capture that base if there's 10 people and a tank in it and all you have is a buddy in a jeep? Better call for air support. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

I tend to agree, that's why I played the hell out of Team Fortress Classic.
Such a quick game. _________________
