The actual normal ending is something you do need to know/see before you start CoM. However, not the perfect ending where you need all Dalmatians, all worlds finished, and all trinities. That's just a trailer for KH2.

when you make unsupported, opinionated statements like that, you should expect to be contradicted. it's just that simple. what you think is "obvious" is just your own generalization. i've never assumed that kingdom hearts was a childish game, even prior to playing it, because i am aware that square enix doesn't particularly specialize in juvenile games. having said all that, if you're going to make unqualified statements, be prepared for dissent and the overarching realization that your assumptions may not be an "obvious statement."

Phantom you have to use all magic attacks. And like, cast Stop on the clock a lot. I don't remember the exact strategy I used but I thought he was pretty easy... Kurt Zisa was harder, but more fun.
Though it may have just been because I had about 11 MP at that point... I'm just the kind of person who stocks up on techniques. _________________

I just don't know exactly when Phantom is vulnerable, that's my problem. I'm also not really interested in taking the time to level up all the way and become some sort of Keyblade God. _________________

It's just that, an opinionanted statement. I have nothing to back up my argument but just what I've seen- the cover of the game itself. And yes, it is a quite ovious statement, if there's anything that related to infancy it's Disney cartoons, and putting them all together into one game would seem childish to anyone, unless they know more about the prdoucer/game (like you, for example). I could go around school and I'd guarantee you that 90% of the people will agree with me.

The obvious way (I say obvious because everyone else did) of interpreting your original post is "I haven't played it because it looks like it's for babies and stupid and since I'm not a baby who enjoys stupid things I haven't played it."
On the other hand, you've got a point. It does look like it's aimed at a younger age group that the people who actually play it. Heck, I love storybook/for-kids design sensibilities, and Sora's stupid-ass shoes still tick me off if I let myself notice them, and I like huge shoes!
The fact is, I only like Kindom Hearts games because the cool things outweigh the stupid ones, which is lucky because there are plenty of stupid and/or irritating things about it, starting with the inexcusable camera and ending up somewhere near the fact that you can't ditch both Donald and Goofy at once/permanently.

Were my friend and myself the only ones who used the right analog stick to select from that little menu? Or is it just because we're hardcore katamari players?
The plotline deteriorated into generic good vs. evil at the end a little bit, but from what I can tell from chain of memories and trailers for the new one, the new plot is significantly more complicated, enjoyable, deep, whatever. It also appears not to have some thing like "friends" or "memories" to link all the events together in a semi-educational and juvenile method. _________________

My only worry is that Square-Enix just might screw up the sequel (*COUGH* FFX-2 *COUGH*). Not to spoil it for anyone that doesn't know, but odd characters were added in the game, such as Chicken Little.
As for the magic menu, I think I used the directional buttons for the spells I didn't have on hotkey .

I haven't played it because I'm not a big gaming fan.
Why?
It costs too much $$$. So even if I was inclined to play it (which I am) I wouldn't play it because I don't shell out that much money on things that I'll be bored with 4 weeks later. I've been wanting to play Madden 2006 for the longest time, but I've still to play it.

oh well then obviously you are entirely correct since a made-up statistic like 90% of a junior high school certainly is proof that a game appears to be targeted at children. of course.
