It's actually very widely produced. I'm sure you keep your eyes open you'll find a playhouse putting it on. Even I have worked on two productions of Equus. They made a movie of it in the late 70's with Richard Burton.

The music for Eqqus is actually really good. I'm normally not big on (read: loathe) showtunes, but I actually own the CD. I got it used for four bucks, but I do own it.
I saw a good production of it once in Chicago. The actors playing the horses had these huge KISS-style boots that looked like hooves. Totally great.
Plus, where else can you see nude horse-eye stabbing? |

Actually I don't think it's a terrible move for Radcliffe to try and break out of the boy-wizard typecast before he's done with Harry Potter.
Of course, now he'll be stereotyped as an horsefucker so I don't know how much of a step that is.

I think Horsefucker would be a great name for a band, a superhero, anything. A hygeine product.
