But Torchwood is pretty amusing, usually. If you don't expect anything whatsoever from it, at least.

I will say RTD got the character of the Master pretty much right.

Too bad he got everything else so wrong.

No! I WILL wait until Saturday night when it comes out on TV!

Then I bet we'll have to wait until mid-next year to get the next bloody season. I'll probably download that when it comes out in the UK.

has anyone watched the christmas special yet? i have it downloaded but it's not too high on my priority list of shit to watch.

i did watch the first episode of the new torchwood series though, and it was amazingly campy. i enjoyed it.

Does anyone know what's the deal with episodes this year? Like, when they're happening?

Oh thank GOD.

So far this season: RTD continues phoning it in, but the guest writers do a slightly better job. The Doctor's Daughter wasn't the canon-ruining tragedy we all expected it to be... in fact, it was actually a pretty enjoyable story. Lots of Deus Ex Machina this season... I think some writers are in such a hurry to try to develop the Doctor or Donna's character that they end up resolving nasty world-ending plot points with a handy machine nobody ever mentioned before that the Doctor just happens to pick up and use at the last second.

Also, when you do watch, keep your eyes peeled for crazy references to The Empty Child. I caught one in both Poison Sky and Doctor's Daughter (they're both kinda obvious, but weird back to back). I wonder if I've missed any... and I also wonder if it's building up to something awesome come Moffat's two parter.
