Anyone who says that early DS games were really good fits the title "fanboy" to a tee. The "OMG YOU CAN TOUCH IT!!!" thing was more or less true. WarioWare (and to a lesser extent, PacPix) is the first game I can remember that was actually good. Nowadays though, we got Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Mario Kart... I've already listed these off.

There sure is a lot of Nintendo talk for a Ps3 vs Xbox360 thread.

How is the PS3 doing so much better than the Xbox 360?

Well, the PS3 is a mythical piece of hardware right now! It's going to... solve world hunger and cure cancer. While playing video games in high-definition super-realistic graphics! But the Xbox360 is here now and we can see that it's not actually leaps and bounds ahead of last gen consoles. Of course, by the time the PS3 comes out, Sony will have dropped the world hunger and cancer things, and toned down the super-realistic graphics, so it won't be much better than last gen consoles either.

Summary for lazy people: hype does amazing things when you can't actually see the product.

HD output is a big deal to some people, including me(and even more by the time the console is out...). Nintendo is trying to downplay HD support, just like they tried to say online play/content didn't matter when they released the GC, simply because their console had the weakest support for it(PS2 was weak here too, but GC...damn). And it turned out they were VERY VERY WRONG. I'm not afraid to say I think they're VERY VERY WRONG about HD support as well.

There's a difference between online play and HD. Online play revolutionizes gaming. HD just makes it prettier.

As for me, I'm getting a Revolution. The Xbox 360 is big, loud, and annoying (I've also heard this from many people) and the PS3 is going to be horrendously expensive (since I'm going to be a poor college student when it's released, this is not cool). Plus I've grown up with Nintendo games. There will always be a place in my gaming heart for that fat little Italian plumber. Also that kid in tights with the ears.

High definition holds little appeal for me right now.

So how about those really terrible PSP commercials, eh? Makes me yearn for that one where Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Pikachu are frolicking in the flowers before they kill each other. Classic.

I remember that ad. It was so funny.

And, yes, I'm getting really annoyed with the PSP's marketing campaign, including the "graffiti" thing, with the pictures of wasted-looking kids using the PSP as a ping-pong paddle or somesuch spray-painted all over major U.S. cities--has anyone else seen those? They're an eyesore.

Nope. I wish they'd even re-air those "throwing-the-PSP-to-other-people" commercials. The new ones are like Mencia for gamers.

Nope.

PSP is getting its ass completely handed to them in Japan. DS sales are completely BAT SHIT INSANE in Japan because of games like Brain Age. It's also outperforming the PSP in America, too. Notice how Sony is regurgitating a shitty yet huge ad campaign to promote the PSP - but Nintendo isn't? "It's like a nut, you can play outside." bwahahaha.

In Japan, Nintendo is NECK AND NECK with Sony as far as sales. Nintendo is doing GREAT internationally.

Meanwhile, the Revolution is already starting to get alot of third parties interested. RED STEEL, anybody?

You CANNOT count Nintendo out of the console race, yet. They may have lost the battle in this gen - but they're getting alot of support for the next.

Gonna be one of the first Rev. games I get.

If I don't have a Revolution when it comes out, I'm getting the DS version.
