I said I like the OS better, not that it is better. Personal opinion is totally different from fact.
And I don't use m4p. My entire collection is in mp3 192 kbps, and only a few are lower or higher quality, maybe about two albums' worth. To me WMA is still a fairly proprietary format itself, not as bad as m4p but not universal either. mp3s are awesome.
I know people with iBooks and old iMacs and they still run well. It may just be my bad experience with PCs at home. We usually get budget PCs in the first place and they seem to crap out in a year or less, but we keep them around for four. I'd rather make more of an investment early on a better computer and have it last through all four years.
IF I knew more about computers, I'd totally forget buying a computer and just build one myself. Seriously. I just don't have the 1337 skillz for that.
As for customer service, it seems like crap online but I haven't had a bad time in any apple store I've gone to in terms of getting serviced and getting what I needed. The people there are nice and gave me actual explanations. Logical ones, not anything BSy. Online and on the phone they strike me as crap, but what place is good online and on the phone?
So yeah, probably still Macbook... they're sexy! _________________

I like ripping in Apple Lossless, even if I really can't tell the difference. _________________

If your headphones are crap, then you really can't. You need kickass headphones to really hear it. I used to get crappy $5 earbuds that last a week, now I get $20-30 headphones that last a damn long time and have better sound too. It makes a lot of difference. The apple ones are pretty damn bad, by the way.
I just remember when I first got my little 256 MB mp3 player I made really tiny WMAs so I could fit as many songs as possible. But as soon as I got new headphones I heard a lot of difference so I started using iTunes and ripping with 192 kbps mp3s. :3 _________________

The difference really is noticeable, at least it was for me. The investment is totally worth it. They last longer.
Be careful with earbuds--I think it's harder to find good earbuds than headphone-headphones.
As for OSs, nothing's perfect, eh? Maybe I need a change from using Windows computers all my life. I don't hate windows necessarily, it's just a little annoying.
Admittedly the fact my school offers more support for macs is a major influence on my purchase. XP _________________

Do you prefer earbuds? I personally hate earbuds. I like the headphones that go over the ear but are connected by a cord rather than that hard plastic because those never fit my head.
Trust me, more expensive headphones are totally worth it. _________________

Yeah... earbuds are good for all-around listening, I think. Over-the-ear ones are better for muffling other sounds, though, like a lawnmower. _________________

As I type this, I have earbuds in my ears ( not to mention a wire in my mouth. don't ask. ). I like earbuds. Those big headphones that completely cover my ears piss me off a lot. I dunno why, but yeah. I just go with the earbuds, even though everyone likes to critisize me fer it -.-'' _________________ Homsars Girl n. a bagpipe bent on engulfing the world in a mix of pepper and ketchup.
