Anyone else hear of this? It's an RPG coming to the DS in September. I'll post some links in a sec here.

I read about it. It looks like it will have its way with the 4th wall.

The back of the box (my avatar is the front):

From the main website:

Quote:
Terry skipped class, as one does when they are at that rebellious stage where they want to do the wrong thing, even though they have no idea why. He was relaxing on a bench in the park where he normally went when he skipped class (usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but every once in a while he'd slip a Monday or Friday in there too). He woke up suddenly (he had fallen asleep) to realize that the sun was already setting. It was getting late. "It's getting late," Terry thought. However, as he gazed up at the sky, he noticed a shining light of some sort...

The light caught Terry's attention for the very simple reason that tiny green crystals were falling out of it. Like rain, except green and made of crystal.

Before long, a space ship Terry had never seen before descended from the sky (though it should be noted Terry had never before seen a spaceship). Out of the ship stepped an old man in a labcoat.

"Hey, don't touch that." said the odd man from space.
"Give it here, boy."

While Terry sat and started at this strange old man in a mixture of confusion and perplexity, another light streaked from the sky (this one red) as if chasing the previous flash, which was clearly the professor's ship.

The space professor tensed, "...watch out! Quick, get inside!" He directed Terry into his spacecraft.

Terry rushed inside, as instructed. After an intense chase through a small corner of the galaxy, the ship took critical damage and fell to an unknown planet.

The Professor had only one place to turn--the player who had purchased Contact for his or her Nintendo DS! Hopefully, that player will agree to help the Professor and Terry...

Terry's mother was at home the entire time, cooking a lovely family dinner and utterly oblivious to the fact that her son had ditched class yet again.

It's made by the same fellas who did Killer 7, and is apparently inspired at least in some part by the Mother series.

And apparently it's been delayed 'til October. Devastated.

Yeah, you actually level up each individual stat by doing something that corresponds with the stat. For example, I want to get my speed up so I walk around for a few minutes to build it up. Say I want to up my attack; all I have to do is use the attack command freely. The more of a certain action you do, the more experience that skill gets. It appears to be a very ingenious way of leveling up.

It appears to be final fantasy 2.

I just meant the leveling/expierience and stuff, it still looks like a damn good game. And I liked that about ff2.

I was thinking the same thing. Although I hate that style of leveling up. Appears Squeenix does too.

I'll probably check it out after I finish FIII. When I get it in Nov. Devastated.

Well, as far as asthetic value, the first one was a little more colorful. This one looks nifty but I would say to go with the first one.
