For people who want to play, post your interest and reserve yourself a spot. Once you have a spot, register and account here and setup a character sheet using the 3.5 SRD (which includes all the main rules you need to play). Make sure to go over the combat rules.(!) If someone's active in the channel (see below) they'll probably be able to help you set up your character.

The channel we'll be playing in is "#dndsocks". We'll be using this for our combat. Make sure to upgrade your Java to the latest version in order to see it. We'll be posting the map codes in this thread.

Character limitations: You can't be an (half)elf and you can't be a human. You also can't be a sorceror or a cleric. We'll be dungeoneering, so keep that in mind when picking a class.

I'm hoping to start Friday night. So get to work please!

People playing so far:
Cyber95 (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=44502)
Sean (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=44504)
Tacofiend (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=44705)
Tsuta: (http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=44944), Animal Companion :http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=44999
Jordan: (probably)
Spots left: none

--

We need Jordan and :Dave in here pronto. I think it was :Dave who played too. I don't remember. Devastated.

So yeah, I'm waiting on some players to confirm they are indeed playing. I wanna roll my svirfneblin ranger. Sad

Well, considering that I just started playing, my character is not good. I should probably start by actually rolling my stats...

Do you want us to just make someone up and post their stats here? I've got some dice at my house but for those that don't have them, I'd say to put up a link to a dice roller. I'm too lazy to look for one myself but it's at least a suggestion.

I don't play, but I'm not here to call anyone a nerd or anything either. I'd just like to say that Hero Quest is an awesome board/miniature game.

I sure wish I had more of the materials. But of course my mom thinks this is satanic. Oh well, fuck her. She can be a moron if she likes.

Just pirate some pdf files of the books. It costs too much otherwise. I have a DVD with most of the 3.0 - 3.5 that's been published.

DiceMage is a good dice rolling program.

So yeah, I've only played a human once because they're boring and offer no racial stat bonuses. Half-Elves are also boring because theres pretty much no difference except you get better sight or something. Thus, svirfneblin. I mean, the can communicate telepathically with other deep gnomes, and they're just plain awesome. They're like dwarves, except not as mean and gruff. And they live in the Underdark! Very Happy

I'm a nerd.

Never played it, don't plan on buying it.

I just need some sort of free D&D online that's basically the same.

How mean. It won't let me create a character. Sad

EDIT: Made it.

How the hell do I fill in the info on the stat sheet?

Reading the System Reference Documents in that dropdown menu would help, as they explain at the statistic-type stuff.

I remember the first time I played we didn't have any miniatures for combat so we just used coins. So a wyrm we fought was just a string of coins diminishing in size. Surprised

Rifts is cooler, although I've never played Rifts.
And I wasn't particularly good at D&D.

You mean the combat or the roleplaying? Devastated.

We should get a game going. I'd DM, but I'd probably end up just making it up as I go, as I have no experience. Devastated.

...both. Devastated.
I always seemed to roll really low numbers.

You probably didn't do anything to the dice before you rolled them.

About half the posts in this thread are mine. Devastated.
