i couldve been mistaken. i was looking at your memberlist for old members and lt.zerge stuck in my mind but maybe he wasnt a member. nonetheless i just want to get in contact with those people again. some of the games we played on that forum were fun. i remember spending hours on the computer over the summer editing pictuers in paint and everyone would add something. fun times. |

I don't think JoeyDay's really done anything with Dot Net. You're more than welcome to contact him about it, K-Pax.

http://www.wzbt.org/homestarrunner_net%20%20Index.htm
I remember I tried to screenshot it at 100,000 posts. I missed. But theres some membernames on there (including me K-Hag7) which bring back memories. I figure if we could get a lot of the active members from the old forum back together I could use the serverspace for my college radio station's website (wzbt.org) to host a forum and we could get some cash to buy the domain (or just hack it? or threaten to hack it?) from joeyday |

um...
first off, how did you find Socks and Vinegar?
and second off, we're the only remnant of the .net community left, I think.
So if you wanted to reclaim .net... here we are. We don't need the domain, we're fine right here. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

call me too optimistic, but i swear there has to be more of them. eh i should probably just give up though. i am pretty optimistic sometimes...
oh and i found you through the h*r wiki forum. i asked what happened to everyone and I got the summary of the "h*r.net scandal (about marc giving the domain to joeyday) and then someone sent me here and to another forum (the URL is in my history but I don't feel like looking b/c they require the admin to approve me before I can log in so i'm expecting an email from them anyway) |

I'm pretty stoked on the fact that more than half of the users on the link in K-Pax's signature moved onto .Rules or other lifeboat communities.
I don't get why K-Pax never stuck around between .Net and now, though... |

I just sort of disappeared when highschool started for me in august of 2003 and shortly thereafter is when H*R.net disappeared, I believe.
Class @ 10 tomorrow. I'm sleeping now. I'll probably be over my whole plan thing by tomorrow. It was a good attempt but I don't see it happening unless someone can get marc to cough up an old memberlist. I just have trouble believeing he deleted the whole board without backing up stuff like a memberlist.
oh and I couldnt find the pic's that the one user sent me. i swear it was asphyxiate though. haha there was this one pic she sent me where she was pretending to lick an electrical outlet and she captioned it as something like "dont leave your kids home alone" |

Strongfans is still around, but they formed during the time of Rules, so I don't think they're a .net lifeboat at all.
and yeah, .net went down on Aug 4, 2003.
And you can't steal domains. It's impossible. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

the whole stealing idea is kind of not forreal. i'd really like to buy it off him. but i could steal a password. do some phishing maybe? i wouldnt do it. i'd let someone else. i dont want to get in trouble. (actually i'd do it probably)
steal password > log into godaddy > change password, email, contact info, credit card number, etc > change nameservers > I WIN! |

I don't want any talk about stealing anything of anyone's. It's illegal and immoral. I do not really understand what you think you are doing, but whatever it is, people here are not very interested.
If you are keen on "getting .net back", just stay here and be a part of the community. We are .net in a sense, considering we are a major chunk of the main users from .net. We just have a different URL and less noobs ( not counting Rockman and gang ). From what people have said in this thread, I don't think we really feel like moving back to .net, so just hang out here, KHag.
If you continue on anymore about hacking or stealing passwords, I will lock this thread. However, you may continue discussion and whatnot, just as long as it doesn't have anything to do with hacking/stealing. _________________ Homsars Girl n. a bagpipe bent on engulfing the world in a mix of pepper and ketchup.

What about Homestarrunnernet, huh? That guy was totally old school.
