| I dunno why people rag on this game so much, because I played it all the way through and I thought it was damn fun. Keeping the sensitivity low definitely made it a lot easier to navigate and shoot down enemies. Sword fighting is insanely fun, too. |

Sword fighting was fun at first, but now it's really just shaking the nunchuck and countering, or dodging and doing the sword katas.
I'm around 45% or something through it, the mission after Tetsuo's Games. It gets really annoying when enemies shoot you but you can't see them.
Also my game froze on me at one point, and for some reason it keeps restarting the level, not at my latest checkpoint. I'd start a new file to see if it fixes it but after playing through Testuo's Games so many times I'm too sick of it to bother.
So far, I give it a 7/10. There are just too many glitches and control problems (shaky reticule, stops your movement momentarily, etc) to give it anything higher. Besides the annoyances it's pretty fun, though. |

It's very much a love-hate type of game from what I understand.
Now I don't have it, but I have COD3 and Elebits, and Elebits uses pretty much the exact same type of control scheme as Red Steel.
I like the COD3 scheme much better. With the Red Steel/Elebits control scheme you basically have to sacrifice your ability to shoot when you're turning, which sucks. The COD3 scheme feels almost as natural as mouse/keyboard. |

Yeah, my game froze during Tetsuo's Games, while climbing the stairs to the ski lift. When I turned it back on, it put me back in the beginning of the contest, but it only took me 10 minutes to get back to the stairs. It didn't freeze after that, or at all onwards.
You get to sword fight with these dudes dressed in Power Ranger-like suits and I thought it was funny. |

| Wow, that's the exact same place mine froze. But yeah, the Sentai dudes were hilarious. |

In the rabbit level and the mission where it reccomends a level 5 respect rating I've come to parts in which I get completely stuck and there's no way out. The only reason I beat the rabbit level was because I did something I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to and climbed the escalator (it took forever). I didn't see any way to get up on the ski lift and that was the only way I could think of to get up there. The next level I'm completely stuck in. I see a door that looks like it would take a key card but there's no keycard in the area. I've everything I can think of and I can't seem to be able to progress. Overall, I would give the game a 5. The sword fighting is boring and easy. You can beat almost any opponent by just strafing around them and shaking your controller like crazy. The AI is absolutely retarded and will walk right up and try to shoot. They have no sense of survival as they constantly stand out in the open and pretty much beg me to shoot them in the head. The voice acting is the absolute worst I've ever experienced (next to Elebits but that's ignorable). Your enemies say some of the dumbest things and they aren't even in crappy, fake Japanese accents like the main villains are. The cutscenes make me pretty much die inside and I cry out with frustration as to why they couldn't afford to make them actually animated. The multiplayer mode is this game's only redemption. Aside from having only four levels, it's fine. The gunfights can last a pretty long time and can be pretty epic because you can't see your fucking targeting cursor half the time. It's okay some of the time, but it honestly doesn't offer me anything interesting besides the intuitive controls, and that doesn't really amuse me for long. Oh yeah, the story sucks too.
I give it a 2........................
out of 5. _________________

| You run up the right side of the hill in the "rabbit level". There's no way to get on the ski-lift, I've tried. |

The graphics look like shit, and normally that doesn't bother me but they're REALLY bad. _________________ I'M A TARD |

The graphics are tolerable, but I would have liked to have seen better. _________________

The gameplay looks fun though, I'm going to give this a try at my friend's house or something. _________________ I'M A TARD |

It's fun up until right before you get the Katana-Giri. You're like, "Oh, this is kind of neat," which gradually descends into, "Ah... wait... this isn't very good at all..." _________________

Or maybe you have bad taste. Either way, the truth remains that it's a bad game. _________________
