i was actually going to make a longer post than just "cheers" but i had a cigarette in one hand and a milo ice-cream in the other hand so my typing skills were somewhat hampered.

i spent this year's australia day inside reading a book. i could have gone to a barbecue, but that would have been even duller.

durr durr i don't book the bands nor do i pay to go and see them.

i think that was the thrust of my argument. Smile

on the other hand, the lineup back in 2003 (when actually braved the heat to go and spend the day there) was really really good.

I saw that thing about the Big Day Out on the world news. I thought "gee, that's stupid, but not as stupid as giant music festivals in general... especially when nobody can stand in the sun for fifteen minutes without getting cancer."

and yes the 2003 one was excellent, in fact I can't recall a band that didn't put on a sweet show.
