I don't think he's considered 'retarded' at all - sure, he creates a wrong Australian stereotype, but a lot of it is an act.

Crocs are gorgeous animals too. The way he shifted her body into the dam was actually kind of sad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not really one to be compared to Irwin, but animals can be great mates, even if they are man killers.

That vid did actually make me tear up. Sad I dont like think he's retarded either. A real man is not afraid to cry. I'm glad that Mary died in her sleep. Like Irwin said that it's the best way to go. I think that Paul Hogan made the wrong stereotype firsthand with his "Dundee" movies. I always liked Irwin and his animal shows.
