So, Nintendo has decided to reveal the actual name of the Revolution before E3.
I'm not really liking the new name. 'Revolution' sounds so much better. Sure, I realize that 'Wii' symbolizes what their goals are. But it's just so.. blah. Not really a great name to shake off that "Nintendo is for kiddies" stereotype. I bet I'll like it come release time, though.

Yeah, it'll bring a few Xbox 360 users together with Nintendo fanboys...
but only the hardcorest of Nintendo fanboys won't flock to the PS3 when that comes out.

Seriously. Maybe if it were round.
Anyway, nintendo doesn't want you to only have a wii. They want it to be something different, something not in direct competition to have on the side. That's why they're making it so much cheaper. |

If you change your opinion of a console based solely on its name.. I seriously doubt you were a fanboy in the first place.
I'm still getting one. Although, unlike people who 'abbreviate' the Nintendo DS, 'DS', I'm not going to call it the 'Wii'. That would sound too weird.

I wouldn't stop getting it due to the name.
But if the final name does end up being Wii, I'm going to sharpie 'Revolution' on it everywhere that it says 'Wii'

It's not a name change. Revolution was always a codeword like Dolphin was.

They'd only flock to the PS3 if they can afford it. I mean, fuck, the Blu-Ray alone is hella expensive. Also, I'm not so interested in the clunker. Kingdom Hearts, Okami, etc. aren't enough to shell out... $800 or more.
