While the death penalty thread is running, I figured we might as well get this in motion too. I'd imagine most of your beliefs on abortion are similar to the death penalty thoughts. We'll see.

Pro-Choice is named that way because they put the "woman's right to choose" over the baby's right to life. Pro-Choice assumes that the fetus isn't a person, which is ... really impossible to tell.
I think that's why there's such a big squabble over this... one side assumes that the fetus is just a clump of cells, and can't understand why the other side wouldn't let a woman get it removed.
But then my side believes that the fetus IS a person, or at least, COULD BE a person, and removing it would be murder. We can't understand why anyone would think it's a women's rights issue, since to us, it's life or death for the fetus, but only a matter of convenience to the woman (usually).

So let's err on the safe side, eh? Don't kill the fetus... if left alone, it will (usually) develop into an infant, and we know that's a person... so how can we say a fetus isn't?

Again, I rushed and said something and came out looking like a douche.

I believe in responsibility, but I think it should still be a choice. Nothing is 100%. However, I think when a woman has an abortion for nonmedical reasons, her name should be broadcast throughout the country.

Some women get kidney stones. They pass them. They say it's worse than childbirth. If you can pass a freakin' kidney stone, then why can't you be bothered to pass a child? Why do you have to kill the child instead?

I think almost all women say passing kidney stones hurts worse than childbirth.
And no, you don't have to feed that child for a minute. Plenty of people are waiting around to adopt that child.
And with a baby, yes, you can murder it, or you can inconvenience yourself long enough to give birth to it.

It's my business because it's murder. If you killed someone, it'd be everyone's business, not just yours.

Adopting costs money. Not everyone thinks fetuses are alive. So now you're getting in other people's business making decisions about their body based on beliefs that THEY don't share. Riiiiight.

We've gone from "what if" and "erring on the side of caution" to "my view is the view that laws should be based on"
