Well, today they laid off/Fired 9 employees from my job, and they demoted me from one of the managers to regular supervisor/driver. This was due to cuts in the companys budget. Hell, a cool manager that was there for 11 years was let go. I'm glad i still have a job though.
Has anyone had a bad firing experience. Lets talk about it. Or Do you have an interesting quitting story???
When I was in Pennsylvania, I was traind at The Giant Eagle (a grocery store) and they let me go after my 1st day because I made a mistake on a WIC Program purchase (Its like a welfare thingy) and they said it was a serious mistake, and since I was on probation, I had to be let go. They never told me what the mistake was and the manager on duty was a total dick. He got his cum uppence though because he was canned for sexual Harrassment.
When I worked for Taco Bell, I worked for a patronizing boss. I took her shit for 8 months. It was like I was brand new on he first day, and she would ask for an item, and I would ask where it was and she would roll her eyes and patronizing. The straw was when she screamed at me in front of customers AND my sister who stopped by. I snapped and said 'FUCK YOU,FUCK YOU YOU SHORT ASS BITCH. IM OUTTA HERE' Then I walked out. This was the lunch rush btw, ooooooo she was soooo pissed. _________________ MY BARF is TASTIER than Yours!!!

The dating, then no dating, then working together, then dating again, then I fired her because she sucked at her job. THEN CAME THE DUMPING.
Because some people have trouble keeping their personal and professional lives separate, but I do not. She couldn't get over the fact that I fired her, and it was really irritating, so that was that.
As long as we're on the subject... I have "made it" whilst operating a radio station.
I had a sad termination experience, although it wasn't that bad because I was only a temp there, so *shrug*.
I was working in a long-term temp assignment in L.A. for this huge-ass insurance company, running files back and forth, copying gigantic loan files (I must've gone through several dozen boxes of copy paper - not those packages, boxes), and one day I hear through the grapevine that there's some kind of restructuring going on and they're going to be telling people on Friday who's being let go.
Well, Friday rolls around, and people are just doing their jobs like normal. Then, about 2pm managers start taking groups of people into their offices to give them the news. We're talking about insurance adjusters, underwriters, other people who are part of the insurance biz that it can't do without. And here's me, the guy who takes files from the mailroom and delivers them to underwriters, walking around the increasingly empty office, looking for someone who still works there to drop things off to.
Eventually, they got around to telling the temps "Oh, by the way, you guys are done with your assignment, nice job". But until then, it was like watching a living thing die one organ at a time. It wouldn't have been such a bizarre experience if they hadn't had people keep doing their jobs like normal up until the very end.
There was another temp one (before that) where I got let go after the first day: It was at BMG's picking and packing plant, walking around this huge warehouse of CDs and filling orders. Apparently, I didn't memorize the locations of every single CD fast enough, so they told me to foff. Stupid racist jerks. _________________
