The 3com TippingPoint Hack-a-Mac contest was over in 10 hours. The prize? $10,000. That's $1,000 per hour. Not bad.

And the contest winner says that Vista is more secure than OS X. Confirming what PC users knew already and what Mac users were afraid to admit.

I don't remember mentioning anything to the contrary. You can pretty much hack anything given the time.
Vista still seems like a major pain in the ass though, and it definitely has its share of vulnerabilities like OS X. I just prefer Apple and OS X. It's more intuitive for me, at least. Won't be switching just because of this.

I have my little external with all the shit I want to keep on there. I don't care so much about the system settings I have, I can always reset those. I'm cautious with my emails. Haven't downloaded/installed any programs lately. I'm a happy camper.

Ok?

As a Mac person who was converted to PC's I've gotta say that I'm happy. Not happy that things are hackable, but happy that baseless claims about the infallibility of Macintosh can be set aside.

But it's all about preferences... and not frying bugs.

And you could learn a thing or two about staying on topic. What's that about boarding?

So yes... hacking the Macs...

Yes, Vista is more secure because it asks you before it can do anything.

try vista first before you bash it, please. I tried OS X.

and besides, I'm not defending Vista. I still use XP. I'm just saying... people tend to think of Vista as the worst.

Well OS X is even worse.

So this is your wakeup call, Mac users. Like I say to the Firefox people, you're not secure. It's all a delusion. Protect yourself, or you'll walk straight into a hacker's trap.
