I'm am a designated 18+ sales associate at Hot Topic. That means I'm at least 18 (I'm not until the end of this month), and I have expanded responsibilities like being able to make returns. Am I paid any more than a regular sales associate? No. But this way, I mostly work weekdays. Weekend shifts at Hot Topic suuuuck.
Q: How much do Sales Associates earn per hour at Hot Topic?
A: We generally start our Sales Associates at minimum wage, but it may be higher if you have previous retail experience.
Q: What benefits do Sales Associates receive at Hot Topic?
A: The benefits of the position include flexible scheduling, a dress code many can only dream about, a 40% merchandise discount (even on sale merchandise!), and a program that reimburses associates for attending concerts and then telling our merchandise team what they saw people wearing.
Q: What are the qualifications needed to be hired for the Sales Associate position?
A: Having a passion for music and providing great customer service matters most! Knowledge of current bands is important, and previous retail experience of any type is preferred.
Q: Are there any positions available in the Hot Topic store in my city?
A: To learn what positions are available in your local market, please visit stores in person and speak with a member of store management. |

I'm currently a busboy/helper at a bakery, but I haven't been in this week because they called and said it was too slow.
Once I pass a drug test today I will be part of the Sears Merchandise Pricing Team.

Hahaha, oh wow. I bet it's only for Sound of the Underground and other Hot Topic sponsored shows. Right?

I'm a media center intern at GTN Inc. currently working in the shipping department.
My main functions include: processing, labeling, and packaging outgoing tapes, filing and pulling tapes from our library (of many thousand elements), running tapes to various audio and editing rooms, and most of the time sitting around on the computer waiting for something to do.
However, GTN is being sold within the next couple months, so my job is likely to change... hopefully it will be towards my goal of becoming a creative editor. _________________ here comes the big ideas again, just like they did before and then,

My current part-time job was working as a barman at St David's Hall - its a concert hall, where its usually people with delusions of grandeur that are the usual audience for the kind of stuff we have on inside - Orchestras, 50's/60's/70's bands and tribute bands, small time jazz/folk and comedic acts and that kinda thing.
Thankfully after 4 years in that job, I'll soon be leaving to pursue a career in IT. Though I should have started looking for a job about a month ago, its now looking like I'll be in Aus for a couple of months coaching kiddies to play soccerball ( ) _________________ ...but the BBC news theme, sounds like some sort of apocalyptic rave.... |

I'm restarting my job at Kings. It's a grocery store with an identity crisis and can't decide whether it wants to be low-budge and sale-a-rific or sell obscure gourmet things like ostrich and caviar. I work in the front end, sometimes as a bookkeeper, sometimes as the bitch behind the desk, sometimes as the bitch in charge of cashiers, and sometimes as a cashier. I wasn't happy about going back to it, since last time I went back I was usually a cashier, but I just got my schedule for the next week and I'll be bookkeeping and bitch behind the desk, which is pretty sweet.
I get paid shit but put my paws on a lot of money. There's an employee discount on some things, but not on others, and even the sale items are ridiculously overpriced if you look closely. In short, it's a pretty shitty job.
For next year I'm going to go for an internship, something in New York City I hope so I can commute from home. I'm hoping for something relating to design (typography or graphic), religion (pluralism and ecumenical kind of things), or possibly science (molecular biology kind of thing). My academic interests are rather schizophrenic, if you haven't noticed. _________________

I work at an EB Games which is now a Gamestop. It's mostly dealing with stupid people, organizing and filing traded-in games all day long, and being told my one of my assistant managers how I'm a stupid fanboy for not liking every single shooter/bloody gore-fest released and liking "other" games.
It's still fun, but I wish I worked more often and was paid more. _________________

| I was in an EB games, and apparently one poor guy had been misled into thinking that there was just one new console. The Wiistation 360. Regardless, I just sent out a job application to some online stock broking business. I'm 27, graduated from the university of Pennsylvania majoring in English, And my previous employers were a construction company and a shady surveillance company that was shut down by the government. I'll keep you posted on how things go. |
