Let's discuss how the hell the continuity's supposed to work.
T4 (dubbed Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) is supposed to be set after T3, during the war with Skynet.
Now, apparently the Sarah Connor Chronicles is supposed to be set in a different timeline than T3, which would explain why in the pilot episode (set in 1999) Sarah is still alive and not dead from leukemia. But if the TV series is set in a different continuity then how will it have a link to T4 (as confirmed by the executive producer)? Unless they decide to be asshats and use the time-travel plot device to somehow connect the two.
I got all this from wiki but everything has sources. So um, yeah. |

Just got done watching the first two episodes and I'm downloading the third now.
I'm almost hooked, I think one more episode and I'll be loving it. So far it's no Battlestar Galactica, but it's certainly got potential.

Why the hell didn't Skynet get a Terminator to go back in time and kill one of Sarah Connor's ancestors? Surely they would have had a harder time defeating a Terminator, and thus increasing Skynet's percentage of success..

What's the obvious answer that you're thinking of?
That Arnold had to kill like six Sarah Connors originally, which suggests he was working off very patchy information, which suggests that they don't know who Sarah's ancestors are?
There's also the fact that they might accidentally waste one of the ancestors of a Skynet founder.

I was gonna say because then there would be no plot, but that wasn't bad.
Maybe you should work writing little novelizations meant to patch up plot holes and discrepancies in the half assed stories of insanely popular franchises. |
