If (somehow) Hillary is the nominee, then I hope she picks Barack as a VP, but if it's Barack, I hope he finds someone better (read: someone I can stand). _________________ here comes the big ideas again, just like they did before and then,

Oh, of course! Hillary's contingency plan to be president... become Obama's VP and then call in ... a few favors... _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

I think it's funny how Hillary was behind the "let's give drivers licenses to illegal immigrants" idea, until apparently someone finally told her hey Hil that idea totally doesn't make sense and now she's against it.
Honestly, this is my biggest problem with Hillary Clinton. Her stances on things seem less based on actual thought and opinion than on calculation to secure her stature.
And is anybody else totally sick of hearing about illegal immigration? I understand it's a problem, but let's face the fact that employment of illegal immigrants in America is a two-party crime. None of the candidates, and none of our representatives in general, seem able to say what needs to be said: the law needs to come down, and come down hard, on businesses who employ illegal immigrants. Building a fence doesn't solve the problem. |

Unless of course it were a really really big fence. | That's true... at least until those greasy Mexicans figure out how to build a boat. But even by conservative estimates, that's still at least a decade away. |

We need to support NAFTA further so we can realize its purpose. If the US and Canada can find a way to jump-start Mexico's economy, then the Mexicans can get jobs at home and they won't have to come here. Then everyone's happy. I can't see any reason why Mexico can't be as prosperous as the rest of the big North American countries, besides the fact that they currently aren't. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

my father works in retail. You can't outsource retail. I'm going into computer programming, and you can't reliably outsource computer programming. As the US and Canada become a workforce of largely skilled labor, we can start exporting more of our unskilled labor into Mexico, where it's free to import what we make. _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

I was behind NAFTA at the time it was proposed and put into action, and remain behind it. Despite what many loud-mouthed pundits will say, the idea that getting rid of NAFTA will stop illegal immigration and curb outsourcing is totally ridiculous. In the meantime, we don't have to pay tariffs on all those auto parts and assembly jobs from Mexico.
Plus, you know, cheaper tacos. |

Quote: | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California, who hasn't endorsed either candidate, said a unity ticket was impossible.
She said the Clinton campaign "has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better commander in chief than Obama." |
