goulet and i agreed south park went downhill after chef died, but i still watch for the one or two decent episodes every season. if they do just one episode that has nothing to do with their terrible political views, i'll be thrilled _________________

Trey and Matt have managed to make randy unfunny and annoying in the past couple seasons, a task that I thought wasn't possible at all
I definitely agree that it's gone further shit since they killed off Chef, though there has been some pretty good stuff, nothing last season was particularly impressive to me though _________________

I watched tonight with some friends, and I thought it was pretty funny. They referenced "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson a few times, which was funny because we had just read it in school.
A character in The Lottery, Bill Hutchinson, has a name eerily similar to my own.

I remember reading that in school when I was a kid in 1979. It's my favorite story. I recognized the reference immediately, and also the brief Invasion of the Body Snatchers reference as well.

The most recent episode we saw here was Night of the Living Homeless from season 11.
I thought it was quite funny, maybe it just slides downhill from there? _________________

well, it's sort of been on a downward slide for a few years now, for a number of reasons already kind of mentioned in the thread, I have enjoyed a few recentish episodes, but the majority are pretty awful
real sad stuff actually _________________

this is about how i feel. matt and trey have become really self-righteous, and last night's episode was one of the worst offenders. i find it ironic that they continue to mock family guy when they themselves have succumbed to the lazy writing and formula that they satirize. in some ways, south park is much worse in that matt and trey have abandoned trying to make people laugh and instead just use the show as a surrogate for their opinions (which is fine, but it's really tiresome when the whole episode revolves around an oversimplified message). they also criticize family guy for not having "developed characters based on a plot" when really they've thrown all of the characters' personalities to hell and have made them all annoying and one-dimensional. also, the writing sucks. at least family guy still makes jokes
nice av btw. jacques-louis david is the best _________________
