eh, my sister has three kids. I just go over there and influence her kids. This way I don't have to do any of the crappy parenting stuff. _________________

It's the genetic information in the sperm that determines the sex of the child, not the egg. So basically, if you have a girl, then it's your husband's fault.
I don't really know how I'll raise my kids. If they're cute I'm thinking I might send them off to an acting school when they're old enough to talk, get them on some family sitcom, manage thier careers and abandon them in a train station as soon as they hit puberty. _________________

Be in bed at a semi-reasonable hour on school nights. stay up all night on the weekends, I probably will be
don't break stuff
get okay grades till high school, then I will expect good grades
drinking is fine, just don't show up to school drunk, and don't get caught
sex...meh. 15+ I don't care all that much, just use protection and don't do it when I'm home
look at porn all you want, I really don't care
be somewhat honest, if there's something you really don't want to talk about with me, just say that, I'll understand
chores are optional, but you don't get allowance if you don't do them
that's about all I can think of.
edit: family outings are optional, but usually it's going to a restaurant or ice cream, so I doubt I'll get too many complaints. |

Yeah, seriously. Let them choose their own religion.
My folks are very Christian and they didn't force anything onto me. Just church like, once or twice a year. P'thetic. _________________

We really have never gone to church unless we're with people - friends, funerals, weddings, etc. _________________

I've been to an easter sermon and a christening. That's it. My grandmother and cousins are deeply religious. |

Punch the kids, for god's sake. Seriously, spare the rod, spoil the child all that stuff.

Heheh. No one said I'm forcing them to be Christian. My parents are doing the same to me. At first I hated it, but honestly, I've learned a lot from it. I mean, even if I weren't Christian, the church does teach a lot of morals.
And if my kids want to join another religion, that's fine with me. But they're still going to church with me every Sunday as long as they live in my house. |

I wouldn't force my kids to go to church because I find them incredibly creepy. _________________ I'M A TARD |

I gotta side with Moosed on this one, guys. There's nothing wrong with wanting your kid to attend church every Sunday. They can sit their moodily if they'd like, if they don't believe in the religion. But I don't see any problem with at least trying to instill your own religion into your kid. You shouldn't program it into them to the point where they can't make a choice on spirituality for themselves, but it's A-OK in my book to at least offer up your religion (in this case, Christianity) to your kid as a good choice. Sharing a common religion would at least give you some common ground on which to discuss things with your kid.
Let's look at it the other way- let's say you're an atheist. Keeping your kid home on days of worship for different religions and telling him that you think that religion is a load now and then isn't really doing anything more than what Moosed plans on doing for her kids. _________________

Oh, I didn't mean to say Moose was wrong. Her kids, not mine. I'm just saying I wouldn't. My parents are VERY religious, and I can't stand when they get churchy on me, and I don't think my kids would appreciate it. Its in the blood. _________________ I'M A TARD |
