from my understanding (source: stand up comedians and movies) it's full of hicks and racists. give me some proof stating otherwise, mikes!, and ill reconsider my views of the south.

the worst stuff comes from the south, country music and jeff foxworthy.

There are tons of racists and hicks in the north and west, too. People just don't like to talk about it.

im not saying that there aren't some great, sensible people from the south (hell, david cross was born there!), but the general southern "culture" seems to promote ignorance and intolerance.

Most of the south is bound to a stereotype, the rootin' tootin' redneck country music lovin' conservative liberal hatin' kick fuckin' islam right in the ass supportin' minority hatin' fart joke lovin' cowboys. and in my opinion, they're too unwilling to shake it off.

wow, that post seems a bit mean spirited and full of generalization, but once again, I'm only saying that too many people encourage stupid behavior, because by god they were born southerners.
