Doctor Worm certainly is a fictional character. Ana Ng, Mr. Me, Skullivan... so none of TMBG's song have had an impact on society? They've influenced tons of bands and have uncreased the music-making and music-distributing talents the world over.
And that's just Them.

For survival. As humans, it's entirely necessary. Even cavemen drew on the walls. _________________

I really don't think it's "necessary," so much as "inevitable." "Necessary" implies that we as humans can't live without it, which you yourself said was false. _________________

I'll counter that. I believe that creative output (music/drawings/stories/etc.) is overwhelmingly stimulating to the human brain, and is totally necessary to preserve cognitive ability. |

True, but fiction =/= creativity. You can easily write a song about a factual subject, or paint an awe-inspiring landscape. Heck, I'm sure there's someone out there who gets a kick out of writing history books. _________________

we have, youve been too busy coming up with some bullshit rebuttal that avoids our points. Maybe you should stop ad homineming, and start building a case for your statement. _________________

dont blame me, i quoted, went out, posted it.
well, maybe you should blame me.
but nevertheless, here's a point just off the top of my head. without fiction we would not have movies. movies alter pop culture and movie stars are a large part of that. movie stars get paid large sums of money, affecting the economy.
and i thought we had established that the "because it's not vital it's not importnant" point was untrue long ago. _________________
