You can't take a total side in this issure if you have a brain and unbiased information. On one hand, illegal immigrants are important, help the economy, and had terrible lives previously. On the other hand, they aren't paying taxes, while enjoying all of the benefits that normal americans pay taxes for. Personally, I believer the easiest solution is amnesty. Make them pay taxes.

My school of about 2500, a large amount of which are immigrants, would probably get their asses kicked if all the immigrants decided to not show up today. However, I think the whole skip school thing was aimed more at Colleges.

I believe that the uh, Original Americans (y'know, the ones who were under the boot of various genocides since 1492) have something interesting to say about illegal immigration.

they didn't mind the immigrants so much, as demonstrated in the thanksgiving narrative, but I think they did mind the invaders that came afterwards.

The Thanksgiving narrative was most likely complete bullshit. Regardless, you've got your history a little sugar-coated. Those New Englanders did invade native lands, eventually destroying the close to the entire population of all natives before 1730.

Either way, the English weren't the first American conquerors to begin with. The invasions started long before the "peaceful" settlers. Spain, man. The Spanish pioneered the destruction of native cultures in the name of God, Gold, and Glory.

in central and south america, yes, but they're not part of the country in question. And the thanksgiving narrative is fact, it's in the diaries of the pilgrims. I don't think the quakers had any native trouble either. Heck, most of the tribes Lewis and Clark encountered were friendly as well.

The supposed first European to discover America, Columbus, wasn't quite there to make friends. Its a fact that when he got there, he instantly took hostages and demanded where the gold was. He also later established Fort Navidad, which of course got massacred after the men Columbus left there killed several Indians looking for gold. Although many immigrants came just looking for a new life (namely cotton farmers and 2nd sons of farmers of Britain) some did come with a gold lust.
