Heavyhandedness. Like the fact that there was LITTLE TO NO real flaming in this topic. Your judgments on what is flaming and what isn't are WAY too heavyhanded. How much flaming has taken place in this topic? Find me posts that are actual flames.

1 post in 10 pages? (the response wasn't a flame) I looked through already. That's pretty much it.
All in all, about 3 flaming posts. I told Mike he should have been stillborn and later called him a douche. That's about it.

Find me some examples of the problem, since it apparantly exists.
(And yet, a logical solution evades you as you mindlessly repeat the same non-argument over and over again anyway. This is what arguments get to be like in PM.)

Logic's apparantly not a strong point for you tonight. It's logical because it keeps the arguments (not necessarily flaming since you suck at judging the difference) in one place, away from anyone who doesn't want to see it. It also minimizes flaming by letting the dispute end there, rather than forcing it to culminate in a flame WAR and a ban or bans.

Maybe if you thought about what might be better for the forum instead of your own need to show everyone how much power you have in your mighty e-dick maybe we would be able to come to a rational conclusion. You seem to want to prevent that and make this whole forum a miserable hell of flamewars like rules quickly became.
Brinksmanship didn't work in the cold war, and it doesn't work to prevent flamewars.

O Rly? Because I know a forum that has 10s of thousand of members, employs a flame forum, enforces that flaming only take place there, and that's all they need to do. Gamewinners.com . One of the most successful message boards around? Yes?
Yeah, unlike you I have a specific example. Not one I made up.

If you flame in the public forum, they warn you, and tell you take your dispute to the Thunderdome (the flaming area) or the Court (the dispute area). If you persist, then you get warned/tempbanned/banned/whatever is called for.
