it's that time of the year; when money-hungry evil movie corporations send out explosion-filled, gun-toting, boat sinking "epics" that will hopefully bring in the dough.

for your reference, here's an incomplete list of the major movies premiering this summer (any movies i have any particular interest in seing are bolded)

feel free to add to the list

May:
Mi:iii (already released)
Poseidon
X-Men: The Last Stand
Over the Hedge (looks horrible)
The Da Vinci Code

June:
Superman Returns
Nacho Libre
The Devil Wears Prada
Click (meh)
The Break-Up (looks bad, too)
Cars
Strangers With Candy (Im still deciding whether I liked the tv show, but this was co-written by colbert and sedaris, so ill reserve judgement until i see what's up with this movie)
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (YESS!!!!)
The Omen
Pirates of the Caribbean (Kieth Richards as Sparrow's dad?!)
Miami Vice (ray and that guy from phone booth team up with that guy who did Heat)
Lady in the Water
You, Me and Dupree (oh owen wilson, you've come a long way from being that indie-trendy anderson favorite)
My Super Ex-Girlfriend (cautious optimism, mostly because it stars uma thurman)
A Scanner Darkly (what the fuck is this?)
Barnyard (ugh)
Monster House (Oh no!!!)

August:

World Trade Center (Oliver Stone, Nicholas Cage, and the gay cowboy's sister do a movie about...9/11)
SNAKES ON A PLANE DOUBLE BOLD.
The Illusionist (Edward Norton and that guy from Sideways?!)
Clerks II (Jersey Girl be damned!)

sorry, id provide more witty commentary, but i only made this thread because i was really really bored.

I'd hate to judge things to quickly, but remaking The Omen sounds like a horrible idea. That was an awesome movie. They don't need to ruin it...

I'm about the only person on earth stoked for Poseidon. I'm optimistic, but the original was so good that I'm sure to be somewhat disappointed.
