|
|
My brother installed AOL 8.0 on my computer. So, I went to uninstall it and I saw the uninstaller there. But then I went to get a drink and came back and the uninstaller was deleted. I have no idea what happened to it. AOL must have senced that I was about to uninstall so it got rid of it.
Does anyone have the uninstaller? I did a google search for it but could only find the 9.0 uninstaller. _________________ secret agent super dragon |

AOL is crazy. I one clicked the start menu and the "Free AOL & Unilimited Internet" thing was there. And the computer on its own clicked that over 100 times. Causing the AOL website at the install section to come up tons of times. All I did was click the start menu.
EDIT:
Hah. Check out their Customer Support page:

Windows, right? Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and then find AOL 8.0. Should work, not sure though. Never had AOL.

That doesn't acutally uninstall AOL. That just gets it off the Add/Remove Programs list and pretends to be uninstalled but AOL is still there. _________________ secret agent super dragon |

...No, that definately gets rid of AOL. Unless you're talking about all the spyware bundled with it, that gets it completely wiped. You're thinking of deleting it from the Start Menu.

No, I uninstalled it from Add/Remove Programs and it is still there. It still opens and functions normally. _________________ secret agent super dragon |

Idiot. You uninstalled the uninstaller. Aol's uninstaller is in 3 pieces. It attatches itself to various vital parts of the system so you can't find it. |

That's why you don't use Aol in the first place. _________________

ITS if you used AOL I'd bash you over the head with something big and blunt, say, your own logic.

hey, we HAD to use AOL. First we used Prodigy, then that went kaput. Then we switched to Compuserve, which also died. AOL was our only choice! _________________ Come into my den let me hear you cluck

Bullshit. I jumped to AT&T Global after Prodigy folded. |
